New upgraded BPPC

Got my upgraded BPPC card today, it was a '040@25mhz 603e@200mhz but not it's upgraded with a '060@50mhz which is the latest version which is the best to overclock which I'll do when I get my hands on a 66mhz crystal because the card is now fitted with a clock crystal socket so it's easy to change clock crystal
This is quite an unfinished project as you can see, still need some harddrive cables and clean up some cable mess
Plan to fit a Terratec 512i soundcard, 100mbit Realtek network card, Voodoo 5500 and later on a Spider USB card
Looking for an internal scandoubler/flickerfixer so I can use this machine for some retrogaming too

nicely done!

I have also 2 of those winner towers now, they are very nice!
my desks are a mess now, 3 towers, 2 1200 m/bs, g-rex, zorroIV, mediatorZIV and all parts on top of them, I am on the process of building 2 towers, a bppc/medZIV/ZIV and a 030 one....

Looks good to me, congratulations on the upgrade. Have thought of getting my own BPPC board upgraded, but then the information on my box doesn't match with the card

However, one question; why Voodoo 5 5500? If you plan on playing 3D games, you will be limited to 8 MB RTG memory anyway.

As a side note; I had the Mediator PCI 1200, the same as you have installed, and IIRC it had no support for Terratec 512i cards. AFAIK only the big box Mediators and Mediator SX can use a Terratec 512i card. Furthermore it wasn't possible to get a Voodoo 4 4500 up and running with the Mediator PCI 1200, even though it worked fine in a Mediator PCI 4000 (the Voodoo 4 was a special version, so you might not have any problems using a Voodoo 5).

-EDIT-

Apparantly the new busboards can use a Terratec 512i, so maybe I was just unlucky with my Mediator PCI 1200, as the Terratec worked in both the Mediator PCI 4000 and the Mediator ZIV as well.

The Voodoo 5 is the only compatible gfx card I have at the moment, it was left after I swiched gfx card in my A4000 for a Voodoo 3000.
As soon as I have a Voodoo 3000 I'll ditch the Voodoo 5 because it sucks....just draws more power, produces more heat and you can't play Earth 2140, Nightlong or Wipeout 2097 coorectly with it.
Are you sure I can't use the Terratec 512i? my Mediator is equipped with the Mach Chips upgrade

Yeah, the hard way

Have to resolve some problems here first, haven't got a single PPC ganme to work properly
Feels like ther first Mediator 1200 board is a big hump of incompatability
I clearly remember now why I abondoned the Mediator and the tower and put the Blizzard 1260 I had back then back into an A1200D

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the major reason you guys tower 1200's and buy expensive PPC hardware?

I can see wanting room for more hd's and cdroms and having heating issues with 040's or faster because of the desktop case, but do you realy see much improvement in normal activities with PPC processors and PCI cards?

just because they can I think...

hell, I'm about as mad an Amiga user as you can get but I have no intention of overclocking or jamming these available solutions into any of my machines...

a serious setup is enough, you don't need a crazy set up...

at the moment I am looking at a A1 or a Peg2 or both, who the hell cares and have an interest in these other modern PPC board solutions for A4000s etc... I have 8 A4000s alone...

Some people just like retro games and some software... I just want to keep using AmigaOS...

and I am happy and do not question other peoples interests in other cpus... I like them staying OVER there

Today my upgraded BPPC from Stachu100 arrived (603+/330 + 060/66). I have ready A1200 tower system including G-Rex PCI (Voodoo3 3k) for that. Question is can G-Rex run on overclocked BPPC? I mean does is run on 66 MHz bus?

My Blizzard 2060 with a "latest mask" 060 overclocks to 64MHz with just a heatsink (no fan) and it runs super stable. These 060s rule!

You mean that you want my 2060? Then you're in luck, I stockd my A2000 back to defaults because I want to use it for retro stuff, and my A4000 as my main Amiga. But enough thread hi-jacking, we can take this over PM. Send me a PM if you're interested in it. I also have kick 3.1 for A2000, PAL minimegi-CHIP for A2000, Picasso II.
