well done vermillon,
i understand why you don't want to play anymore this game.
It's why i won't try to beat this score or if graham buy my ticket for england and buy me a drink to the pub perhaps i will try.

Yup it was pain trying to get that score.. thankfully I had the day off work with the flu so could devote the time to it

Things can take a turn for the worse very quickly in this game; you can be flying along with 3 billion points on your first ball, then lose the rest in a matter of minutes

anyway it's not over until the fat-arsed lady sings - still 3/4 days for someone to topple the scores

I think we also should introduce "fair play". Fair play is to publish you score as soon as possible after you got it. If someone is sitting and keeping their score's un-published and decide to publish it JUST before the time-limit is out, then it is not Fair Play.

I do think that's what's been happening already so there's no problem at the minute. Again it's not something we can ever prove, we just have to trust each other at the end of the day

Or maybe umm submit results in secret....then they get revealed at the end....i have no idea how that would work though ¬____¬....and one person would have an advantage then knowing :O

Yeh don think it would work too well dude, ppl wouldnt be willing to push themselves as far. I know there's no chance I'd bother trying to get >6 billion unless the challenge was set

Agreed, and I guess to solve that problem, if any1 submits a large score inside the last 24hrs they had better explain themselves well

I had another go last night, I shall be posting a screenshot of it later. (It was quite late and I couldn't be bothered to upload the picture)

It's not by any means the best score in the thread but I was VERY happy with it It's just over...

4,000,000,000

Graham, sorry to bring this question here but the other thread is locked: When you say Deluxe Galaga in Round 2, you mean the AGA version, right?

That's a great score, I must admit I thought at the start of this round if anyone got that sort of score they'd win.

Either the ECS or AGA version, it doesn't matter. We will be using v2.6 though.

Actually I've just realised; 4 million is rubbish. 4 billion is great; 4 million - not so great. Get some practice.

Just a reminder to everyone that this round closes at 11:59pm UK time this Friday, so you've all got a little over 48 hours to get your scores in. After that I'll create a results thread over the weekend, where all the scores and latest league positions will be kept. Round 2 (Deluxe Galaga) starts on Monday.

OK. You'd better post some rules when the round begins, such as 'Normal Mode, standard options' as DG is very configurable.

Yeah I know, I'm going to look at it over the next couple of days but I don't think they'll be too far removed from the default settings.

Lowlevel.library_________________________[USE, IF PRESENT]
Channel indicator / Clock________________[CHANNEL INDICATOR]
Money bonus in meteorstorm_______________[YES]
Money limit______________________________[UNLIMITED]
Level limit______________________________[UNLIMITED]
Ship Armour______________________________[YES, PLEASE!]
Cash Sucker______________________________[YES]
Sampled speech___________________________[ACTIVE]
Display are borders______________________[OFF]
Use mouse as controller__________________[NO]
With these beign the MOST (obviously) importante for fair play:
Quote:
Money bonus in meteorstorm_______________[YES]

If anyone has different or not sure how set, just delete the file GALAGA.PREFERENCES from Deluxe Galaga's DATA directory, run the game and re-set the config.
Thankyou for your cooperation
