Hmm... Not sure what the problem could have been. WindowsXP firewall wasn't blocking the connection, AFAIK.

I always get #hitlisted on pleasuredome. I use qBittorrent and everything is set up properly, but I cannot upload at a decent speed with their private tracker for some reason They also only allow you to initially download Mame roms, but they have like 100 seeds or more which makes it impossible to maintain a good upload ratio, and before you know they then s###list you.

Back-ups.me is much better and my Ratio is: 36.72 Uploaded: 181.74 GB. So I don't know what's up with the Pleasuredomes private tracker.

I cant get onto back-ups.me, but pleasuredome Ive been on for years, ever since having 4mbit/1mbit adsl, And tbh Ive hardly used it for a few years and Ive got nearly 15 tb uploaded there, its probably my most uploaded to tracker, ug was pretty high as well before it dissapeared.

If you read and follow the PD rules you won't get s###listed. Read the FAQs on what's best to seed to get your ratio up.

And be patient. You get a free ticket once a year on your sign-up date, plus at Christmas time they runs a "12 days" event with plenty marked FREE with 2x upload bonus.

I've been using PD on and off over the last few years, not had any issues either. I either only grab the free stuff or just seed back for a few days.

While i was there (on the discord) someone posted a message stating "how" you are to beg... you gotta say a little about yourself, why you are there, how you heard about them or where you came from. I stated a discord link from EAB forums and waffled on about loving retro and emulation, speccy and amiga. I got a signup code shortly after, reged on the website, and that was approved in the hour. You just have to play their game, i understand why they do it, to weed out the freeloaders and keeo it to sharing and caring types. But it feels very much like getting on your knees and begging thats for sure.

I have to say its a very rich torrent site but i haven't downloaded anything yet so unsure what the seeders speeds are like or how hard it might be to keep a ratio up.

Backups isn't really anything special for retro, they don't even have basic stuff such as MAME or TOSEC. The categories are rather weird and seeders few. Not worth groveling if you ask me, pleasuredome is far better.

This is what happened to me. Bu it was my own dumb mistake, i thought the "free" Mame torrents were exactly that and wouldn't be part of the ratio count, so i leeched those and didn't seed. Next time i visited i was permabanned. I did plead in IRC to no avail.

Another source is always good. I did see they have a ton of platform specific nointro sets though, those are always good

The trick with PD is to spam the Mame torrents and seed back what you download x5. Admittedly I've been on there for years, but my ratio is 135.5 and I've seeded back 21TB. Once you have a good ratio, you can download any of the torrents, seed them for a few days and not get sh*tlisted. Also it's useful to read the rules before downloading!

Ouch. Pleasuredome was an old school institution. I didn't really use it actively but it was a good backup.

Sadly, the whole torrent scene kinda belongs to another era...
