September Quiz - Clues #1

What date in your life would you like to travel back to? Maybe to the 6th of September so you can think about this quiz longer!? Sounds reasonable.

With this post I'll bring the thread back up and give you some hints.

Clues #1:
1) One series is featured several times in this round.
2) Game 11 is the last part of an older trilogy.
3) In the first line of this puzzle, only #2 has never appeared on Windows PCs.
4) Number 12 was released in this decade.

Deadline is Thursday 30 September, please participate via http://www.retrogamequiz.com/

Here's the quiz again, have fun: https://i.imgur.com/QkMxeQH.png

September Quiz - Clues #2

I'm going on holiday tomorrow, so here are the second and last clues already today.... because I don't have a time machine, unlike many of the protagonists in the games asked this time.
So let's go: 60 people are already participating, and one week from today this round will be over.

@Havie: My apologies, no Doctor Who this time! D:

Hints #2:
1) You control games 3, 6, 11, 12, 14, 17, 19, 20 and 21 from a first-person perspective.
2) Title 15 is a Metroidvania.
3) There is also a VR version of game number 3.
4) The nine titles with a first person view are joined by five from a 3rd person perspective and eleven with 2D gameplay.

Deadline is Thursday the 30th of September, participation via http://www.retrogamequiz.com/.

Here's the quiz again, good luck: https://i.imgur.com/QkMxeQH.png

I went to London, so... no. But I had a good time regardless! Travelling to the UK is still a bit of a hassle though (passenger locator forms, day 2 tests, pre-travel test, meh).

@all: this round ends today!

Brrr, London in September. When I go there again it is going to be in either July or August. My bones are still wet from my last visit.

I hope you tried out some Indian food while you were there It was basically the inspiration for me to start to try to cook that at home.

As I live on the outskirts of London and am headteacher of a school in London, I feel you pain with the weather although to be fair, it was pretty warn and sunny last week. Indian takeaway is very yummy, had one only yestersay so completely agree.

Glad you had a good time.

Congrats again Nobby!

Pretty happy with that round really. I've not got much time to search at the moment and I could have done much worse! I was so close to putting Bioshock Infinite for #20 but it just didn't sit right. Looks like a common guess though.

And I had no idea Super Back to the Future 2 was a thing. I'll have to give that a crack at some point.

Ooh, and I didn't get Future Wars! I should have got that one.

Thanks again Mr Horizon

Now for the wagging finger: What, no Chrono Trigger!?

Yay, at least all the guesses I had were correct again Man oh man I searched and searched for #11, but at no time did Timesplitters come up. That game was on my list of "surely this game is in this quiz..." though.

Not much interesting digging for me this turn, it was basically the act of collecting the list of games which involve time travel and the internet is very forthcoming when it comes to those lists The only one where I felt proud of my detective work was #20. I mean it looks like a character made of gold and it kind of have a roman theme to it, but I wasn't exactly sure it was the forgotten city until I matched that red tapestry in the background to a screenshot. That's what gave it away for me... not the gold weirdo but the tapestry.

Future Wars... I should have gotten that one I was thinking along the lines of Beneath a Steel Sky for that one, but nothing matched graphically. The only thing I had to go on was that it was 2D and had a major Blade Runner vibe.

Past Cure I just don't know at all. I was almost positive it was some kind of Remedy game in the Alan Wake / Control / Quantum Break line of games... I was clearly dead wrong.

Well done Nobby - all present and correct!

Can't believe I got one wrong - same as Gimbal, had Quatum break for Past Cure - arghhh!!!

Well done all though, as EAB scores looking good, maybe we will move up the leader board this year?

Still can't believe there were no Doctor Who games and three, yes three, Back to the Future ones. Dalek Attack on Speccy would have been great, or what about Doctor What or even The Eternity Clock... actually there's a whole quiz there in itself. Are you listening Mr H

Thanks always to Mr Horizon for creating and taking the time to run the quiz.

See you for the next one.

October Quiz - Atari

This time we honour a former giant. Quite a few classics can be attributed to Atari Inc, which rose to become the biggest manufacturer of video games in the early 80s. We all know how the story ended, but similar to the SEGA group (see related puzzle a few months ago ) a whole lot of hardware has come together over the years, with quite a few titles... I won't be able to please all fans and I might have left out some classics, but I still want to put you to the test:
No matter if console, home computer or handheld, exclusive or multiplatform - do you recognise these games?

Deadline is Sunday the 31st of October, participation via http://www.retrogamequiz.com/.

Here comes the quiz, have fun:
