The WHDLoad slave offers very little (nothing?) over the original HD installer (and v1.01+ exes). It does however add the overhead of WHDLoad (loading and saving is slower). Non of the bugs it reportedly fixes I've ever seen. The FAQ says it use the Blitter version of the two EXEs. If you have a faster CPU then you won't see the benefits with the WHDload version. If anyone ever fixed the memory allocation bugs in the original game using WHDLoad then that would be something. But it doesn't. It's one of those cases where you're probably better off using the original installer.

Ambermoon.net 1.0 was released yesterday. You can get more details on my GitHub page or new website.
https://GitHub.com/Pyrdacor/Ambermoon.net www.pyrdacor.net I also released updates for the Amiga original on https://GitHub.com/Pyrdacor/Ambermoon. 1.08 German 1.09 English Many hard bugfixes and text improvements. My next project is Ambermoon Advanced a mod for Ambermoon. It will be also playable on Amiga. It will add new content like places, quests, NPCs and so on. And it will balance the game and improve the experience all together (hopefully). |

I integrated your texts into ambermoon_extro but there are two problems:
1. Some texts are too long. Maybe you can adjust the lines to use only 46 characters at max. I thought Alex told you that already. I think it's easier if you join our GitHub discussion directly: https://github.com/Pyrdacor/Ambermoon/issues/2 2. There are invalid glyphs. But maybe I can fix this by myself. The glyph mapping/encoding is a bit different. I will look into this. And for now it only works in the remake and not on the Amiga. But I think this is related to the wrong glyphs. Would be nice to release a french version as well. |

I tried playing the PC reqrite and it works well, save for two things I noticed:
1. The starting screen takes about 10 seconds until the cursor can be moved properly. During that time, it is very unresponsive and only updates every few seconds. 2. In fullscreen mode, I get graphical glitches in the lower half of the screen. It's like a black graphic with some glitched pixels at the top and bottom is rendered at random frames (for one frame). |

Please be more specific, what do you mean by glyphs ? And can you tell me which file has a problem with those ? For the text limit, ok, i will work that out. |

@malko: I guess dlfrsilver has already french translations for everything. The only thing I can offer is to fix all the bugs I already fixed in the german and/or english versions.
@Jield: No I will first work on the mod for Ambermoon and then start the third part of the trilogy. I need practice in game design . Also I need editing tools that I create now along with the mod. So the mod is kind of a preparation project for the third part. @Cherno: Can you provide a screenshot of the glitches? Maybe a driver issue/setting? @dlfrsilver: Each displayed text character is a glyph. Ambermoon uses a mapping from the character code to a glyph graphic. There is a mapping table inside Ambermoon_extro and other programs like AM2_CPU. So if the wrong character code is used, it can not find the correct glyph graphic to display. The character code is dependent on the encoding (for example iso-latin-1, UTF-8, etc). But as I said I will try to fix this on my end by adjusting my import routine of the text files. The only thing I need from you are text files that are limited to 46 chars. @all: Today I started to implement a 2D Map Editor for Ambermoon. A lot of stuff to do but I'm excited about it already. |

I have all the files, texts, even ressourced partially commented executable files.
I have even translated the installer that comes with the game LOL, as well as the troubleshooting doc, and also the Michael Bohnisch Solution (fully french). What i'm going to do is implementing and perform checks on my files with the patches referenced and found/fixed until now. |
