sometime life is fair: The fact that most kickemu games won't work isn't so bad since they work fine from HD without JST/WHDLoad in kickstart 1.3 (you still need to get cracked versions to get past protections).

The bad news: save hiscore tend to lock up the machine. Must be a JST bug, I have to investigate it.

Checking out the new JST-Version soon. My final A2000/1.3 has arrived, the 386sx has arrived, the combo-floppy 3,5+5,25 has arrived...more soon.

Thx
Doc!

Hello.

Is it possible to run JST on CDTV? I tried version 5.0 from TheZone but it reboots under my WinUAE's emulation tests. Iso made using Make CD was ok.

If anyone have JST version 1.4 or other working under kickstart 1.3 please upload it and let me know here. Thanks in advance and sorry for bad English.

Should work, since it supports kickstart 1.3.
Have you tested a A500 config in winuae? here it works fine.

JST 1.4 won't be very helpful to run most of WHDLoad slaves, because it only supports up to slave version 6 or 7 (not sure). 5.0 supports up to v15 in some cases.

I tried something small to fit on adfs with base WB 1.3 files in C and JST from archive in The Zone. In directory mounted as HDD with kickstart 3.1 under WinUAE 2.6.0 all is fine. But when I try boot prepared adf I hear beep sound and see pink colour screen. When I prepare ISO with CDTV.TM using Make CD I got "Error: no or wrong arguments given". I attached adf and iso to test.

What I'm doing wrong? What kind of games I can test to launch. Do I need original slaves from http://jffabre.free.fr/amiga/patchfiles.html site or I can use most of WHDLoad slaves if game can be loaded on 1 MB - 1,5 MB machine? Please explain me what is wrong. Sorry for any errors in my bad English Thanks in advance for help.

EDIT: I prepared adf with 1.3 compatibile with "Action Fighjter" JST from Retroplay's FTP. And it works fine. But under CDTV when I prepared empty workbench with CLI and JST and try to launch JST AF.JOTD (I renamed slave to fast typing in cli and I had problem with longer name previously) - CDTV reboots.

@jotd: can I upload you my iso somewhere and PM you url (you maybe can figure what is wrong under WinUAE by Yourself)? Because it containt some files from WB 1.3 adf, which are probable still copyrighted. Is it possible to prepare CDTV JST anyhow? Or JST cannot run because CDTV emulated under WinUAE do not have RAM: location?

Or maybe is it some method to emulate Amiga 500+ with CDTV as one Polish dude shows in movies on YouTube (username MGR Zygadlo, but all comments are in Polish language). I wanted to help Him create some compilation of games on CDTV which will execute fast from simple text menu with setmap. But I stuck with this reboot problem. Any explains and help welcome.

Ciao olesio, I have tested the floppy image with ADF A500 Kick1.3 and the ISO with emulation CDTV, and I found that the problem is only the missing memory, if you try to add on WinUAE 1,8 Mega of "Fast Ram", InternationalKarate si avvia senza problemi starts without problems with both A500 with the CDTV.

I did not understand the problem long names, but if the CDTV see filenames truncated, this should solve the problem by creating the ISO mode "Rock Ridge" with MasterISO, as in [ Show youtube player ]. I enclose also [ Show youtube player ] showing the various menus created to start the games by function keys, that I like to do many years ago for my children now big with more than 30 years)

okay guys tell me if you still need my investigating. will be happy to do so. and remember: JST 5.0 still has a lot of bugs. One of them being unable to write and swap back to the game. I'll add a "NOSWAP" option, so CDTV/CD32 users won't be bothered by the problem.

@AMIGASYSTEM: thanks for reply. I know how to prepare menus using setmap so it is no problem for me. I created many hdfs and online Kaillera compilations some time ago. Anyway, if you say it is memory problem so it is not possible to run JST 5.0 wit Amiga 500+ with CDTV even if we have additional extension of memory. Total ammount will not be 2 MB. Can you upload or attach CDTV iso image where you have working HDD game with JST 5.0?

@jotd: thanks for reply too. If you know how to some HDD games get working under JST and CDTV this can help me. Because like I wrote under kickstar 3.X I did not seen any problem with JST. Only under pure CDTV.

Ah lame me - I increased wrong memory. Now it is ok. Thanks for video. But it is still question is JOTD can do something to launch games by JST when we have only about 1 MB of free memory. So I still waiting when he test it my other ISO which I send him on PM. It will be nice if something can be done with very low memory amount.

1MB is very very small. The best I could do at the time with older versions of JST was running games on 2MB...
And now I cannot even reproduce that. the new JST needs trimming of the useless/less useful parts.

So for pure CDTV connected to Amiga 500+ there will be no method to launch games under JST 5.0?
