Hi Aladin,

I see you've modified all the rest of the files

The main menu looks a bit dodgy though with the "sfx":

I've had a quick attempt:

If you are able to replace then I'm improve the above.

yes I know we have to do it again
the sfx / music selection is in the bank file:

data_m_6 (AmSp)
Sprite2.iff Image « hudba » « music »
Sprite3.iff Image « zvuky » « sfx »
Sprite7.iff Image « nahrávám » « loading »

Try to install amos pro with its d7 tools. Once Amos Pro has been launched, in the top menu, go to objects in the last menu and then load the bank file and then modify it.

or take the three sprite files out of the bank, modify them by taking the background of the menu image file (data_m_1) and put them back in (Clenched copyrighted method )

I had done this quickly to verify it was working

With this correction remaining, the end result shouldn't be too bad.

I'm loath to mess with it anymore.
A. AMOS game, fair or not, you're waging uphill battle to get anyone to play it in the first place.
B. Your typical gamer is apt to mouse click right by the intro.
C. Other than hipoonios, I don't see anyone reaching the end.

Fair enough.

I've spent many hours on these screens, and now they are perfect.

I just thought that given you know how everything works, you could probably do the final fixes in say an hour max.

Ok, thanks for those.

I'll attempt to to change "sfx" and "music".

A question though; how did you change the other 3 menu items and can the same method not be used?

The others menu text is on the picture: data_m_1

I have used AIFFpaint to convert ABK format to iff. this software allows to read / write in the formats: IFF or ABK. (You can also use XPK unpack with dopus4/amikit8.5)

https://testaware.wordpress.com/amiga/

And after I modify picture with PerfectPaint and Ppaint

http://ppaint.com/
http://www.amiforce.de/perfectpaint/downloads.html
http://aminet.net/package/gfx/edit/PfPaint_V293

And after I reconvert with aiffpaint to ABK

@Clenched
thank you the result of the intro outro is far superior to what I had been able to do with the amospro object tool for these banks

Ok, in The Zone! you will find "Sprite2 & Sprite3.zip".

Here's what they look like:

...and no thanks for me?

It took me many hours to cut out all letters, arrange the 6 intro and 3 outro screens for clenched to do his magic.

You haven't thanked either of us on Amiga France; only Predseda for doing the translation.

Or linked to this thread in your "Source" list.

Anyway...

One other small thing.

I noticed in the modified Main Menu screen that the brickwork is messed up where some of the replacement text is i.e. "start game" and "quit":

Original:

Modified:

I can try to fix, but will need the original .IFFs for "start hry" and "workbench" please.

Can I have the original ones please too?

Then I'll be able to open the originals and cut the text from the replacement onto the correct brickwork of the originals.

Edit: ignore that, I can see the original and replacement full "Main Menu" screens in the archive.

yes I did not retouch my post on amigafrance since October 1, I was waiting for it to be finished here. I replaced the intro image in the (early) morning before going to work. At the same time as I redid the d7 to put it in the zone. Besides, I add Predseda in the first post

on the other hand there is a link on this thread (I just realized that I have duplicated mobygames lol)

Edit post on AmigaFrance updated

Ok, all done

This is how it looks:

"Main Menu.zip" is now in The Zone!

I also slightly updated "Sprite3.iff" i.e. SFX... archive "Sprite2 & Sprite3.zip" replaced in The Zone!

Sorry, after test, your new file menu is too high (out of memory in AIFFpaint 245000 octet, the original as 51000) have you changed the format?

That's weird. I looked at your images "data_m_1.cz" and "data_m_1.uk"; they were both 320 x 256.

I added .IFF to the end of both and then opened in Photoshop.

I then made all the changes required, saved as a .PNG in Photoshop, and then finally used "XNView MP" to convert back to an .IFF.

I just looked at my file; and can see it's 5 times the size of the .CZ and .UK ones

Anyway, I've just tried something and now my modified file is only 52k; the original .CZ and .UK were 51k.

Archive in The Zone! named "data_m_1.zip".

Please try that one and let me know.

I'm confused; so you didn't try the modified file I created? Did this not work?

Also your file above has the dodgy "sfx" in it; plus the brickwork still has issues.

This is from my bad sfx / music sprites. I changed the picture without the sprites.

Sorry your file is too high. Not working with AIFFpaint to convert in ABK

Ok, but as mentioned, the brickwork in your latest image is not consistent / correct.

Look next to "start game" and also in between "password" down to the bottom of "quit".

Did you try my "modified" file that I created, and did this not work?

yes i tried but. I can't convert your file to ABK

Otherwise for your sprites that you created, it's like for the intro, I don't know how to put them back in the amos bank. Clenched must look into it when he has time.
