Invisible files in Workbench?

Hi there, I am new to Amigas. I have just setup WinUAE with Workbench 3.1

I downloaded a LHA and I want to run it. I have created a virtual HDD and extracted the files into a folder using WinRAR.

Now when I boot up WB, I cant see the files in there. Yet if I use the Shell, I can see them.

Is this a bug?

Workbench is just a graphical frontend and usually only files with icons can be viewed.

Go into the menu's and select show all files and that will fix it

OMG I've just spent whole day trying to figure this out lol - THANKS!!

Can I set it to default to show all?

Also why is it when I open one folder, some of the folder icons are stacked on top of each other? Can I have it automatically tile/align to grid?
