WHDload slaves that need updates for Vampire cards
Okay, I start with these games:
Jurassic Park AGA - 3D sections > only works without cache (too slow) > with cache it crashes Virtual Karting >freezes (starting the race) >Virtual Karting II = same problem / game needs slave Epic >only the space missions work / freezes on planet missions > also slave needed for the superior A600 HD version > IPF in the zone! |

Virtual Karting and Epic now work thanks to the new core.
BUT: Jurassic Park AGA 3D sections still crash with "cache". Without it´s sooo slow. This really needs a fix. Try this password and test it: E54C67AA Last edited by viddi; 07 February 2022 at 20:09. |

It works fine on 060. So I guess it´s a Vampire only problem... |

If it's Vampire only, and if the updated core fixed the other slaves, I would say this isn't a problem that the slave authors should be fixing but the Vampire team should be fixing in their core. Clearly there's compatiblity issues that they need to address.

Yeah no crash on 060 with cache tooltype, but it runs about twice slower compared to playing from floppies with 060 disabled.
Fixing that would require moving the code to fastmem, and Jotd has said it being very difficult and time consuming work. https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?p=1426470 imho vampire specific issues that are not reproduced on classic 040/060 accelerators should be fixed by Apollo, and are not worth of valuable time of WHDload authors Edit: Tested the slave on stock A1200+8mb WinUAE config, and it's still very slow compared to floppy version on a same config, so it's not just the slow chipmem access of 060. Edit 2: Ignore previous edit, forgot the Cache option when testing on 020, the speed is ok with it. Last edited by Aardvark; 08 February 2022 at 02:46. |

+1 if it works on AmigaOS it should work on Vampire or they will have the same issue Amikit author had with it not being Amiga compatible enough. That being said it’s a massive accomplishment for the Apollo team to date creating new hardware for Amiga users today and hopefully the compatibility issues will be resolved in the future.

Yes, and it's WHD, too.
So it really should work. I also posted it here: http://apollo-core.com/knowledge.php?b=1¬e=37622 I hope they'll fix it. |

Thanks for the code to access 3D zone.
I tested the game on my V4SA and it runs at about 15fps, whether I enable Turtle Mode or I turn it off. Both modes tested with cache on and off. No difference. I think it'a limit of the game. On my BlizzardPPC/060 instead the 3D zone is slow in all cases. Memory chip access problem probably. |

It´s pretty fast on 030 and 060 so it´s not the game. |

Tested on my A1200/030 (BlizzardIV) with CACHE tooltype and it runs at same frame speed of V4SA. No difference.

Yes, also on my A1200/030/060 and V4SA.
