Never played Supercomp games 2013 in open ranking

I felt that a list without a preset ranking gives games more even chances, so I want to open this thread as an addition to Lifeschools thread. Please continue your thread, Lifeschool! It would indeed be nice to compare how much the results differ.

How do you do it?
You vote for at least 20 games, regardless if they are on the list or not. Browse your memory, or look at the lists in Lifeschools and this thread to give you ideas and recommendations. The only prerequisite is that you indeed played the game for some minutes to examine if it fits you, and thats what gives your vote a real background. You may vote in a range from 0-5 points for the games. Please sort your list alphabetically and in the format "points name (any notes)" with one entry per line - I will have it a lot easier to integrate the changes (see result list for the format). You may not change your voting for games which you already voted so far, and thus are not allowed to edit your voting posts. If you recognize that a post with votes needs a comment or clarification, write an additional post which explains the problem.

Finally, all votes of all people are added together per game and give an overall ranking result list. I do my best to track your additions with only a day delay.

You are allowed to add more games (this time also less than 20) in subsequent votes.

The value of the points given by you is as follows:
5 - I just waited to play this game
4 - It would make a good addition to the comp
3 - Playing this would be nice for a while
2 - It it gets really voted, I will play it, but do not enjoy it
1 - Dont think i will play it much
0 - I dislike this game very much

Ideally, people could browse for the games which others voted with 5 or 4 (or if they are really committed also with 3 points) to see if that game is something for them, vote for those games too and thus giving the result list a stronger background.

This voting thread runs until voting for the 2013 supercomp starts (estimated 5 jan 2013, but depending on player numbers it could also close already one week earlier).

If a game voted turns out as unsuitable, this does not matter - it will not influence the results for the other games. Votes for games already played in the Supercomp will not be taken into the result list. Please keep an eye that this does not happen (it only means unnecessary work for me)!

The Lemon thread is here. I will browse Lemon as well, and add votes given there in the result here.

1 Cool Spot (starts nice, but gets very difficult soon)
5 Crazy Cars 3
0 Doodlebug (i die almost instantly)
0 Dynamite Dux
4 Emerald Mine
4 Encounter
5 First Samurai
3 Hunter
5 Hybris
4 Jumping Jackson

0 Take Em Out
5 Tangram (limited to level 200)
4 Tower of Babel (Group 11+12) (see here how to play)
5 Traders (The original MULE on Atari800 has a large fan club, probably rather a game for those playing Golf too)
4 Transplant
5 Twinworld (3 strengths of balls with space bar, remove certain floor tiles with 2x joy down)
5 Whizz
3 Wiz N Liz
4 Zeewolf 2

Good thread. Here are my 20+ suggestions:

5 Paradroid 90 (with activated transfer game)
5 PGA Tour Golf
5 Stunt Car Racer TNT
5 Wings (1st score: kills, 2nd: missions)

4 Arkanoid PAL version
4 B.C. Kid
4 Dogs of War
4 Fire Force
4 Giana Sisters
4 Hunter
4 Hybris
4 IK+
4 Jaguar XJ220
4 John Madden Football*
4 Leander
4 New York Warriors
4 Speedball 2
4 Stardust
4 Super Cars
4 Test Drive II
4 TV Sports Baseball*

3 Alien Breed Special Edition 92
3 Alien Breed Tower Assault
3 Arabian Nights
3 Blockout
3 Brian the Lion
3 Bubba 'n Stix
3 Bubble and Squeak
3 Chuck Rock
3 Chuck Rock II
3 Goal!
3 Golden Axe
3 Harlequin
3 Kid Chaos
3 Killing Game Show
3 Menace
3 Navy Seals
3 Ooops Up
3 P.O.W.
3 PGA European Tour AGA
3 Prehistorik
3 Return of the Jedi
3 Star Wars
3 Tetris (Infogrames/Spectrum Holobyte)
3 The Empire Strikes Back
3 Traps 'n Treasures
3 Welltris
3 Wings of Fury
3 Winter Olympiad 88*
3 Watchtower
3 Wolfchild

2 Xenon
2 Xenon 2
2 Zool
2 Zool 2

*: For John Madden Football and TV Sports Baseball we could just play the playoffs and add the scores of each game, then use a similar scheme to SWOS: 10000 points per win + 100 points * added score-differences + 1*added own scores.
For Winter Olympiad 88 we could compete in each event and give points depending on position which added give the endresult.

Might have another vote with 1- and 0-ratings later...

Surely Mysterious World's can't be played in the competition? It takes 4 minutes to complete and it only has a fixed number of points in the game.

Please DO NOT EDIT your voting posts, because I transfer the votes into a spreadsheet, and
1. I Wont notice edited changes
2. The score from the votes doesnt match those in the result list anymore

The 4 minutes are not the problem (Stunt Car Racer also has very short Racing times), but the rather fixed amount of enemies is a problem. Removed.

Just a comment:

There will be only one result list for this open ranking where both EAB and Lemon votes will be collected together, without distinction. So please vote only on one board for this open ranking list.

I thought you'd be averaging the scores. Wouldn't that be better? Then there would only be games from "5 stars" to "0". E.g. Speedball 2 would now be at 3.

Sorting out my list for this was a lot more difficult than I thought, so here are my votes.

5 Snow Bros.
4 Liquid Kids
5 No Second Prize
4 Doodlebug
3 Metal Law
5 Star Wars
5 Speedball 2
3 Prime Mover
5 Wiz and Liz
5 Crazy Cars 3
3 F1 (i.e. Vroom 4)
5 Hunter (Missions Mode)
4 Take Em Out
5 Zeewolf 2
4 Cool Spot
5 Outrun Europa
5 Supercars
3 Chuck Rock
3 Captain Planet and the Planeteers
3. Pegasus
1. Welltris
1. Traps N Treasures (I find it just too difficult - nice graphics!)
0. Dogs of War
0. Empire Strikes Back

btw, Harry - I hope you can continue with this thread also. I feel it will be very different from the League, and will have interesting results. I sure hope you can make my '0' against Dogs of War count for something .

That would be only a cosmetic change, and result in fraction numbers. I like the list with whole numbers better.

BTW: Next update will contain also the number of voters voting for a certain game. That way, 0-votes are included in the result overview.

Okay, fair enough. If you state the number of voters then it's the same, yes.

Just to bump this thread: This is an excellent idea, and just a few more voters would make this really interesting.
