DraCo graphics corruption
Greeting, I am in need of desperate help.
I got another DraCo (without the case to avoid hefty shipping charges). The thing is that I plugged it to test its working status, and got graphics corruption. See the accompanying DraCo boot logo pictures for reference on what is wrongly displayed, and then how it should look like. Test has been conducted with a minimal DraCo setup: Rastaban(busboard), Altais(gfx card) and Eltanin(cpu and mother). Ram was fully tested on another machine, and it proved to be okay. I also replaced the same Eltanin with the other one I have, and the picture is displayed perfectly (it is the second picture). No Drives are connected at all, so the problem is someway only related to Eltanin. Do any of you have a clue how to fix this? I would apreciate your thoughts on this |

Okay, I decided to post the solution to this since someone else might find it useful.
The thing is that DraCos have a custom bootmenu besides the usual Amiga one. It can be accessed by pressing the right mouse button upon boot. In there, there is an option to softkick another DraCo rom. If it is ticked, and no harddrive is present (hence thereis no DraCo rom to softkick), the result is that garbled boot picture I had. So the simple fix is just to disable that softkick option, until you get a drive and install there a proper DraCo rom to softkick. |
