sorry, only saw that the 64 bit version was outdated. but I don't need the 64 bit version anyway.

Running the game, music is completely buggy all right, but nothing appears in the log...

That said I was able to fix the music by adding delays after DMACON writes, specially the writes to stop the audio.

aaaand beta version to test in the zone. Fixed a couple other things timings related, music & sfx play perfect now. I only have one minor remaining issue as Northern Germany disk files have the same name as Europe challenge, so installing both results in one data disk overwriting another... I'm going to try to rename the files in the installer & in the binaries.

I saw the NGC disks zoned with renaming and all. Is there a place to "officially" download those? With the renamed disc the modification in my install script would be very easy. I'm going to go with that.

@jotd, the dat merger skips adding Northern Germany Challenge to scen.dat0 during installation.

I have upped the datadisk to ftp in my user folder, maybe DoubleD could move it to appropriate place for downloads.

Home now so have tested.

You've definitely nailed the flickering issue and the sound (except in one scenario for me).

Tested via WinUAE and using the following configurations:
  • 68020 / AGA / "Cycle-exact (Full)" ticked / KS 3.1 / 2MB Chips & 4MB Fast RAM.
  • 68020 / AGA / "Cycle-exact (Full)" unticked but "Cycle-exact (DMA/Memory accesses)" ticked / KS 3.1 / 2MB Chips & 4MB Fast RAM.
  • 68020 / AGA / "Cycle-exact (Full)" and "Cycle-exact (DMA/Memory accesses)" unticked / KS 3.1 / 2MB Chips & 4MB Fast RAM.
  • 68030 / AGA / "Cycle-exact (Full)" and "Cycle-exact (DMA/Memory accesses)" unticked / KS 3.1 / 2MB Chips & 4MB Fast RAM.
  • 68040 / AGA / "Cycle-exact (Full)" and "Cycle-exact (DMA/Memory accesses)" unticked / KS 3.1 / 2MB Chips & 4MB Fast RAM.
The 68040 configuration gave me issues with sound in-game.

Also, no big deal but after the WHDLoad splash screen disappears and until the "Accolade presents" screen appears takes roughly 10 seconds.

On the *old* v1.2 slave it takes roughly 5 seconds.

I can, but you should really leave "ger_gameoption.info" as is and not rename to "ger_gameoption.shp"... otherwise you can not tell the difference between having the "Northern Germany Challenge" or the "European Challenge" selected as scenery.

See this post

Great

I guess this is why Mombasajoe did this in the first place.

So where exactly do you want it moved to?

I slowed down the dotted fade-in/fade-out because else the "The Duel" sample could not be head: "the duel" title pic was appearing/disappearing too quickly because the dotting routine was not regulated.

Messed up sound ingame i.e. when driving with this config "68040 / AGA / "Cycle-exact (Full)" and "Cycle-exact (DMA/Memory accesses)" unticked / KS 3.1 / 2MB Chips & 4MB Fast RAM."

How do I describe it; crackles and distortion.

That's not what I meant; I think you've misunderstood my paragraph related to this, I'm talking about initial loading times:
