Best way to get samples onto the amiga...

I want to start making sounds for the amiga again. Back in the day I used whatever 8bit sampler I had and sampled from whatever source possible.

Now I still have everything but I want to create sounds in renoise with vst's and then get them over to the amiga in 8bit mono form without them sounding like carp.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Thanx

I am not sure what your question is. Do you ask for a way to transfer files from PC to Amiga or do you want to know how to convert samples from 16bit to 8bit without too much quality loss?

Got no problems at all with transfering files its the converting down to 8bit im having trouble with.

I have just had a quick go with renoise and rendered a sound, then processed it down to an 8bit mono wav using the stuff built into renoise. Then I used cooledit pro to make an amiga iff sound out of the 8bit mono wav. The real problem is the moment the sound is taken down to 8bit there is loads of hiss... but if I were to sample directly from the pc to the amiga using an 8bit sampler, the hiss would be almost unoticable.

Is there a better way or does this mean I am forced to do it the hard way?

You could start by searching these forums. Here's what you need:

Are you sure resampling them with the sampler yields better results? Because you might be confused about how "good" it used to sound. Getting hiss is unavoidable with certain frequencies, and specially with stuff that isn't loud enough. I suppose you are having a loudness problem when you convert your samples.
