Amitools / vamos project
vamos is a pretty cool tool which allows you to run an amiga executable on the command-line, whether you are using Windows, Mac or Linux. All the Amiga OS calls are implemented in Python. The only limitation is that it only really provides DOS and Exec libraries.
I've made a start on implementing support for intuition, and after implementing exec.RawDoFmt, my Amiga executables can display a rough AutoRequest. Next comes the hard stuff, perhaps screens and windows. And in the long run, once I get this working for OS-based games, I'm hoping to hook it up to my disassembler to interactively disassemble executables with debugging support. We'll see whether it gets that far.. but amitools is a great project, so kudos to the author |

Another step made. This is the copy protection entry for Pool of Radiance. Of course you can't see the wacky stuff you're supposed to look up to get what you need to enter. And it doesn't use the "protect.font" font.
I've got to work out a way of rendering the window and screen and gadgets together that works natively, and is actually usable - without being some pixel correct graphical rendering. |
