SCP disk image support in FS-UAE

Do you know when Keir Fraser's additions to support .scp images will become part of the FS-UAE release? This has been extensively tested.

I'll probably merge that really soon now that I got 2.7.0 released. Note, it'll only be available in 2.7.x+ versions, and not in the current stable series.

Btw, I will need at least one .scp disk image so I can test for myself that it works. So if someone has a suitable (and known working) test image, please PM me

(I'll also move this topic to a separate thread)

SCP support is merged and pushed back to github (scp.cpp / scp.h also synchronized with WinUAE). Test image works fine, and the .scp support will appear in FS-UAE 2.5.1

Nice. So, I am not familiar with FS-UAE... What OS's are supported with it?

I "officially support" Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, but FS-UAE also works on FreeBSD and OpenBSD, and packages for those systems are maintained by 3rd parties.

Likewise, while I only test regularly on x86/x86-64, FS-UAE has been known to run on x86, x86-64, PPC and ARM.

Hi Jim,

What is the point in requesting that .SCP image support be added to WinUAE and now FS-UAE Amiga emulators when owners of the SCP card, including myself, are as yet unable to make .SCP images of their Amiga disks.

To illustrate what I mean, here is the latest news regarding SCP Amiga floppy support extracted from your own CBMSTUFF forum:

Correct, I am using non-blind but so far of the 50 disks I have copied to .SCP images I can not get any of them to work in my Amiga.
So if there is anything I can do please let me know.

I am working on new routines for handling the write splice. If the disk was created using the index mark, there are zero issues copying/imaging the disk.
I am going to go back to the original terms I created for Supercard Ami - INDEX & SPLICE. I am going to change the check box to a drop down box with INDEX, SPLICE, and DOS options for the copy method.

You're expecting a lot of faith from Amigans who have purchased your card, and that's a charitable assessment of the situation.

That info is old. You can make images and copies of every disk with the current version of SuperCard Pro. You can't currently make .adf images from disks or .scp images. That is something that I am testing right now.

OT: Is it possible to use Kryoflux free-images with SuperCard Pro?

Maybe. If the HxC emulator software supports whatever format those images are, it can convert it to SCP format.

Thanks Jim!

I had noticed that the manual, software installer and firmware updater available on your downloads page all postdate the last post in that thread, but I couldn't find any information in the forum which suggested that info was out of date.

I have not tried using the card yet, because I've been waiting for a micro-SD card with which I can populate the local storage slot to arrive.

Thanks Frode!

I made some significant changes to the copier interface and code today. I have a new mode that let's you make images that are emulation quality vs preservation quality. The end result is a file that's the same size but the emulation quality image compresses to just 5% of its original size, ideal for FS-UAE!

I can confirm that Dungeon Master (border bits protection) works fine with the SCP image support in FS-UAE. You can use either the preservation (3.1MB) or non-preservation (1.4MB) image successfully.

Hi Jim,
do you have a SCP image of Dungeon Master v2.0?
If so, would you share it?
