Games where the Atari ST version was.....

...either different from the Amiga version (i.e. RoboCop2), or better.

Overlander was a quite a bit different on the Atari ST. Worse music, poor framerate and the car was blue instead of red.

Pacmania. Amiga version used overscan, ST version playfield was roughly half the screen.

The Addams family looks like it was initially designed for a dual playfield background which was subsequently cut, leaving the Amiga version with no background at all.

addams family amiga has the dual playfield not activated.

Crack Down from Us gold is better on the ST : it has the ending sequence, as well as the full introduction. the Amiga version is a borked job.

That's not true, I heard some guy put all the missing Atari ST content into his Amiga crack... :P

All previews of the game showed the background. Then when the game was released, no background.

I have always been curious to know what happened there.

Yes true a flashtro guy made a revamped version with the missing bits included (but no room for the ending, present on the ST release ).

Wonder why that was? cant have been performance issues if the ST version had it!
Anyone skilled enough to see if its in the game code, anyway to add it back in?

It doesnt have dual playfield it could have a static background, the Atari ST version has a type of parallax but not full scrolling. Theres a thread here http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=72443

I put the static background on one of the levels but the sprite appeared behind the background

I just posted on that thread that I have never seen before... but changing sprites/playfield priority should be just a matter of setting bits on the BLPCNON2 correctly. This maybe isn't that hard to fix.

Never mind the ending, I haven't completed a game in decades. But I'd like the background. I looked at flashtro.com and couldn't find it. Is that revamped version available somewhere?

I think it would be better to just have 'better' and 'looked better in a different way' otherwise the thread will get swamped, we know there is hundreds of better looking Amiga versions, i'd just rather know which games played better /extra features or looked better on the ST.

Addams Family was a good example, even if the push scrolling was crap.
