Question Which aspects of games do you wish existed in real life?

This was recently brought up as a tangent on another thread, but I thought it was interesting enough to deserve it's own.

What parts of games do you wish could be part of real life? Bamiga2002, Laffer and I have all wished for the ability to do a quick save so we can do something crazy and see what happens.

I'd also like it if there was a soundtrack, like danger music or the Monkey Island Guybrush / Elaine music in the appropriate situations. Oh yeah

Another one for me would be dialogue options. Rather than having to think of what to say, I'd like a list of options to appear.

What part of games do you think would be cool to see in real life? Would they end up being a bad thing if everyone had access to them? Be as specific or vague as you like.

Multiple and/or unlimited lives - ability to "re-play" - the cool sound effect when bonus points/fruits/diamonds etc. are collected - the nice & smooth walking/running/jumping.

It didn't come from nowhere, somebody must have recorded it!

Yeah give me a giant tiger to send forth and cause havoc, like in Black & White. I'd teach the moron a thing or two about throwing rocks at key targets.

I would quite enjoy living in the future, lets say Frontier, Freelancer or Infinity universes... (although it would be better if i time travelled from now, so i had a frame of reference to the advances that had been made)

I am overcome with the urge to dub some very serious war movie multiple death scene or something with everyone dying making that sound.

Oh yeah. I want a spaceship damn it. But it would be nice to be able to get out of it from time to time, unlike in Frontier.

Or GTA 4 for that matter I ended up with 600k in my pockets and the most expensive thing you can buy in the game is a suit of a 1000 dollars.

Yeah there should definitely be some super expensive shit for the players who get that much cash. Like in Baldur's Gate the powerful magical items were insanely expensive.

The next GTA should have the ability to run your own crime organisation, add in some basic business management stuff. Send out hit squads, shake up local businesses, have gangs of dealers on the streets, stuff like that.

I guess now I'm reversing the question I was asking

I'd love to be a 'goalscoring superstar hero' as SWOS seems to insist I am every time I load it up...

Who knows? Maybe some people involved in the film industry played RD in their youth and will start to use that sound in movies and will join the Howie scream and the Wilhelm scream among the popular re-used stock sounds

For a week or something I'd like to make someone have to type his/her actions like in the early Sierra games. Now that would be pretty annoying.

Some things I think would be nice to have, that you seem to have in most games.. a clear sense of purpose, and instant gratification

Trouble with being given a purpose is you might not like it. Life is like a sandbox game. You get to make your own purpose. Those games are the most fun. That's one aspect of life I'm glad isn't like a linear game
