Mace and Caverns Of Palle

Can only find WHDload versions, anyone got ADFs?

https://hol.abime.net/5002

https://hol.abime.net/4916

(I noticed that the Mace file contained what looked like a disk, an 880K file, so I renamed it to .ADF and it booted to the title screen and music, but then crashed.)

Crashes after Intro Pic + Tune
on Emulated A500 (half+half) A500+ and A600

If you comment out the first four things in the Startup-sequence it works

DamienD asked me to post this:

These games require specific setups to run:

"Caverns of Palle" only works on an "OCS / KS 1.2 / 512KB Chip RAM" config.

"Mace" only works on an "OCS / KS 1.2 / 512KB Chip & 512KB Slow RAM" config.

Both .ADFs are now in The Zone!

Caverns of Pallè fixed into the Zone!

Game is total rubbish, but since there is no complete and working version available, I fixed it.
I have no idea for the original version (if exists somewhere..), but the various cracks and trainers all seem to derive from the one where the second level (and fourth which is practically the same) cannot be completed because it's corrupt.

Now the game runs in any configuration with at least 512k, has a trainer and some patches (the game is full of bugs ..), is one-filed and includes the original intro.

Enjoy (so to speak..).

PS: if you wonder why I wasted (enough) time with a game like this, I don't even know.. maybe just to get the first fully working version

The goal should be 100% versions of every single Amiga game, even if they are trash. Thanks for taking the time, ross

Yeahh, junk code rulez! I basically rewrote code like in the 80s
(it only set JOYTEST and mask JOY0DAT, notice also the topaz.font from ROM and double char with modulo )

Those two games are an example of someone that liked Black Tiger but had no clue on how to make a proper clone imo

MACE fixed into the Zone!

This game is even more rubbish than Caverns of Pallè (if possible..).
There are all kinds of possible bugs (wrong vectors, illegal memory accesses, wrong samples overwitten by data, misconverted and overlaid sprites/bobs and others that I don't even remember..); and it doesn't work in practically any configuration.
Of course even here the second level was non-completable due to errors in the map...
It is also totally unfair because of those damned skeletons that appear over you in a completely random way preventing you from surviving.

Now the game runs in any configuration with at least 512k, has a trainer and is somewhat "playable" and levels are completable, is one-filed and includes the original intro.

Trainer note:
- levels 3 and 4 use the same map as level 2 but with more aggressive skeletons, however..
. you can remore the skeletons

Enjoy (so to speak..).

PS: please Sir Galahad don't be too jealous

I'd rather take Bear Mace to the face than bother with it.

One can only hope Mr.Campbell is playing these for a bet....I hope he wins!!
