Newbie help
Total newbie question. How do I make WinUAE work? I just downloaded and installed the latest version (v1.5.3) and immediately upon starting (before I have a chance to select anything) I get an error message saying:
"One of the following ROMS is required: KS ROM v1.3 (A500, A1000, A2000) rev 34.5 (256K) [315093-02] KS ROM v1.3 (A3000)(SK) rev 34.5 (256K) Check the System ROM path in the Paths panel and Rescan ROMS" Under that panel it has only the folder that WinUAE is in, and I cannot find any .rom files if that is what I am supposed to be seeking. How do I find or select these files, or otherwise make this work? I am running 32bit Vista. Please help. Thankyou |

Hi Jurosem, and welcome to the EAB
The answer is simple: The rom you need contains part of AmigaOs, and as such WinUae won't work without it. If you have an Amiga, you can copy the rom from your Amiga to disk, and use it for WinUae. If you don't have an Amiga, then I'm afraid you'll have to buy the rom Anymore questions? Jusk ask! |

Welcome to EAB
You're going to have to purchase a Rom file depending on the system you want to use. These roms are still copyright and you can't get them free. Purchasing them is the safest way, you're guaranteed they'll work 100%. Not really sure of any sites that actually sell them for download but I'm sure someone here can point you to one |

your best bet, with no access to a real amiga, to get legal roms is by going to www.amigaforever.com .

As this is not really a WinUAE problem shouldn't it be moved to the correct Area, maybe 'New to Emulation'
Could a Mod be so kind |

The kickstarts are easily found on the web. Don't give your money to those scumbags.
