Can't record games using AHI and stuff.

I can't record some games. When I start the recording, the game pauses and I get only one frame. It seems to happen with all games requiring special things, like AHI... the same goes for Genetic Species, can't record that game either... same result.

I have tried all kinds of settings... none seem to make any differerence. So my conclusion is that it's because of AHI or something extra like that.

Any ideas?

ah, so this was about WinUAE?

AHI recording isn't implemented. Implementing it properly won't be easy because now we have 4 channels (2 Paula channels + 2 AHI channels) Either Paula audio is ignored or they must be mixed.

AHI also isn't really syncronized to anything which makes video/audio sync difficult.. (and Paula mixing also makes things complex)

I know this is offtopic (I don't see the point in a new thread).. but how does AHI work exactly as the amiga only has 4 channels!

As far as I know, it was intended primarily for use with expansion sound cards that provided additional channels over those of Paula (however, it can output through Paula as well, presumably using some sort of software mixing in the same vein as OctaMED).

Ok, when starting Simon II I get a list with lots of audio alternatives... If I select Paula, I can record with sound, but I get sync problems. Guess if I want to record this game I have to use Fraps (which I used for Genetic Species). Then again, seems like no music and some sound weren't ported to the Amiga version.. so it's a bit boring to play I guess.... We'll see... It came from the desert is in the works now...
