Amiga RGB scart

I wanted to give BENQ the best shot possible. So, i went looking for a good Amiga scart cable to use with my Amiga 1200, when the local representants offerd to swing by and let me have a test with there tv set to see if it was up to the task of running the Amigas outputs. I got the standard composite cable, of course, but i also wanted to try out the RGB feature. Thing is... I don't have the cable. So i went searching on the net. AmigaKit has one for sale. Is this the best pick? I don't want to be told after testing that i scrtewed up, and that this cable for one reason or another is no good for a LCD, hence i ask here.
Anyone know if it's the best option, or where i would get the best option within a few weeks?

Thank you for your time.
B!

There is not much you can do wrong with those cables. The only difficulty when building one is the selection pin which needs to be set to a specific voltage so that the TV automatically switches to RGB mode. If you can manually switch to RGB on the TV's remote control, you don't even need that.

I would trust AmigaKit more than every other dealer. They usually test what they sell.

While AmigaKit may test what they sell, they also have to make a profit. Selling fully populated SCART cables to everyone would increase the overall cost and not everyone needs them fully wired. If they included information about the wiring in their cables it would give a fuzzy warm feeling to those buying.

Your best option is to make / have made your own to the full spec.

With CRT's this is correct. However we've seen that LCDTV's have such variation in the digitiser chips connected to the SCART that if yours is even slightly picky then it will need every wire in the right place, all the ground wires, all the correct value resistors to produce exactly the right voltages. Otherwise you'll get no picture or an all white picture.

Alexh, i saw that linky when i was searching to see if there was anything on here b4 i asked. And it kinda dawned on me... I could get a full jacked scart, but where would i score the Amiga side connector? And Why, really? the grounds i could simply hook to one and other inside the scart connector if that isn't already done on a premade, i don't really need them all from the Amiga, do i?
(And of course. Why risk that i screw up, if there is a equal option ready-made.)

Don't make it yourself? Get the local TV repair guy to do it for you.

You can cut up a 25-DB connector to make a 23-DB one for Amiga.

Basically with an LCDTV you're risking buying an Amiga SCART cable that you have to re-work.

The picture on their site is of a 15-pin D so I'd double check before buying any.

And they don't sell 23-pin shrouds.

Still, they're good for connecting external floppy drives.
