Phreaking and wardialing type apps...
I guess I lost my account here due to inactivity... The ZONE used to have some decent phreaking apps for amiga and I would most certainly like to be able to get to them again...
For anyone who may be new to the subject I do a bit of collecting of such apps (wardialers, bluebox, code scanners, nua scanners, etc..).. If you have something that isnt up on the zone or that you simply remember - please upload or discuss.... Its for a project that has been "upcoming" for quite a while now.. |

blueboxing, long distance code scanning, wardialing for other carriers (computers), telenet/springnet scanning, nua scanning, etc...
GOBS of freaking programs out there I'm sure.. But people are more about saving games and cracking utilities so finding THESE types of apps is a little more difficult. I'm trying to change that. |

Just curious if there are any folks coming across this thread that might be interested in putting together something to work on this effort together as well as have a place to discuss things that are related to the old days of hacking/phreaking and the things we did back then.. Not sure I would call it a "group".. But maybe.. Nobody else is doing it - so we would certainly be very unique. Just a thought.. Comment if you like - but don't slam the idea if you don't like it - just go away.

I've found several items (c64, amiga, ST) that I was unaware of or even had ever heard of recently.. will be sticking them on www.wardialers.org shortly...

Hype's Mega Dialers Disk
The disk was compiled in 95 on a Amiga 500+ by hype/trickz of the trade. Nua skamazzer has a .mod in the binary. |

I lost all my stuff long ago, but in about 1989 or so I wrote "Template Hacker" (I think that's what it was called) which would let you find calling card numbers based on known number patterns. It was pretty much a highly configurable wardialer. It let you pre-dial a number first (like MCI dialins) and then dial further.
Also when I went away to school I wrote an "irritator" which would dial my dorm-mates phones all night at random times when they came home drunk. Both were in AmigaBASIC. It would be nice to find them but I never distrubuted them. |

tangential to phreaking apps, i remember having at least two massive text files on my amiga that covered all sorts of crazy phreaking stories, from the original of captain crunch to joybubbles (blind guy who could cause a phone to hang up if he whistled a specific tune) to Kevin Mitnick (story was they traced one of his calls to a piece of hardware and it turned out to be a transatlantic repeater in the middle of the ocean) and a whole bunch of other stories.
Anyone remember what they were called and know where i can get them? |

Very cool.. that big archive of apps is a wet dream for me... A couple of them come up with "check resolution suggest reboot" thing... Tried different variations of machines but cant figure it out...
There are a couple that just drop me back down to an amigados prompt as well.. I REALLY wanted to see that NUA scanner... Had no idea the Amiga had anything like that. Super bad ass and thank you for all who contribute to this thread! |
