Wanted C128

It`s my 40th birthday in December & the wife can`t believe that the present I would really love is a C128 !, I`ve been looking for ages but they hardly ever come up for sale.
I have a breadbin 64, a 64C and an Amiga 1200 - I dearly love and use them all, but to make my nostagia complete, I would really love my fav. Machine I had back in the 80`s.
So if anyone has one, or knows of anyone who may sell one - Please let me know, it would really make my 40th to get one ( Much to the despair of the wife !! )

Sure you don't want to hold out for a C128D with it's Amiga 1000 styled case?

Any C128 will do, but yes if one of these turns up I would be happy ( Think they go for quite a bit more though don`t they ? )

Yes, I don't know any source for 5.25'' disks. Expensive but pretty door stop.

Wow, nice computers

If I had come across the cheaper one myself, I think I would have seriously bid on it, one of my Nephews had one of these way back when and it was great. Under the circumstances though I will keep my pennies for another one. I hope you have a great birthday and manage to win this computer at a good price and don't get outbid

The other one looks nicer but the price is way too high for my liking.

Di they make many C128D's? I imagine they were made towards the end of the C64 line?

I must re-read my 'On the Edge' again!

Exactly right Chris: the 128DCR is the metal casing and for the US market. It has the 64K VDC.

I've got a plastic 128D which is the european model. By default, it doesn't have the 64K VDC, but it can be upgraded cheaply and easily.

Nice machines. A good monitor for the 80 column mode is the 1084S - just make sure you get the right version with a suitable RGBI connector: it's a digital signal rather than analogue...
