DoomAttack and how to set it up? - Page 2

I know its meant to be played on a pc but the Fun of trying to get it to run on a amiga is why I'm doing it and if I can get it to just run at a steady pace instead of what it is doing then I will be happy, Doesn't have to be as fast as the pc version as long as its playable I'm happy :-)

It will never be 'playable' on an 020 amiga, even with a tiny window. It will be a slideshow. Does your real A1200 have the stock 14mhz 020, or do you have an accelerator card with a faster 020 on it? How much memory does your real A1200 have?

You say it "will run fast then stop to catch up and then carry this on in a cycle deeming it not very Playable is there a Fix for this". What PC are you running WinUAE on? Do you have WinUAE set up correctly? Why are you emulating an 040 in WinUAE?

I like your Method you Really dive in Deep on the Right Questions :-).

My Pc:

Dell OptiPlex 390, Core i5 2400 Processor, 8GB 1333Mhz Kingston Ram, Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 2GB Graphics Card.

I have WinUae Setup Correctly to my Knowledge, I cant get a RTG Card to Work Emulated though.

the Reason the 040 is in the Emulation is I just wanted to try and See if it did speed Anything up. it Doesn't in fact Make a Difference on my Setup I Don't think.

how would you suggest having the Cpu Settings?

and my A1200 is Stock at the Moment But I am Buying a Accelerator Card for it Soon. WinUae is Practise so that I get it right when coming to setting my A1200 up with a CF Card

Come on Akira not very supportive of Amiga now is it! Even if you are correct about the 020, blizzard MKIV 030 @50 with FPU @50 runs it sweet.

I am running several versions of Doom on 040 @25 in RTG mode but I cannot get the dam screen centred, no matter which resolution I select.

I either get a small screen top left corner or full screen slightly off centre. Also losing some of the graphics due to misplacement of game screen.

It is still playable if a tad annoying. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Having an FPU installed makes precisely zero difference to Doom.

I'd be interested to see a video of DoomAttack running on a 50mhz 030. IIRC it was not particularly quick on my 25mhz 040.

Have a look to see if you can use Overscan prefs to centre the RTG screenmode you're using with DoomAttack.

so your A4000 with Cybperstorum MK II uses UAE Graphic Card?

Seriously now.
Doom I with 68030 at 50 Mhz is enough good for the first 3 episode (12/13 fps with DoomAttack). The fourth is jerky, unplayble.
Doom II with 60030 at 50 Mhz for the first level is playble, but it need at least 68040 at 40 Mhz (13/14 fps with AGA) or 68060 (25 fps with AGA)

Seiya as usual, do not say crap (America was discovered many centuries ago), meant to say that the one started up WinUAE it was the hard disk of mine A4000/060 Cybperstorum MK II and what power and speed was the same as seen in the video.

Graphics Card all setup and Ready now just not made much Difference on Playability at the Moment :-( why is it that in videos it runs smooth for people but when I go to try it its not like that at all lol. is there a plugin or a patch or anything that would help playability?

If you're using a system 040/JIT Doom must flow fluid and fast.

and now I Feel a Right idiot. I am never listening to youtube tutorials again :-) CPU idle set to 8 was causing the issues with all of the Games lol. they now run Fluent and I'm so happy :-)
