Were there King's Quest Disks that couldn't autoboot?
Hi,
I wonder what this is. Looking through a private collection, I found some King's Quest (I / II / III ...) disks that had to be started typing 'sierra' at the CLI prompt. No Workbench, no startup-sequence, no loader. Were there actually versions directly released by Sierra that could NOT autoboot? |

I remember having a POLICE QUEST game (dunno which one), where I had to boot WB before, then insert game disk and double click OR loading directly from disk and typing SIERRA, so there should be such KQ versions also I guess

I've seen versions that boot up to workbench, but none that start with a CLi prompt. I'm sure that Sierra wouldn't have released them like that, it's not very professional IMO.

Your Sierra games wouldn't boot?
Sheesh! Some people have all the luck. |
