Beneath a Steel Sky
Has anyone here got Beneath a Steel Sky in ADF format. I have it in ADF but it's a bit strange. The version I have is on 15 disks which is the same as the original if I remember. When I load the disks up in Workbench I found they were named strangely. Disk 15 appeared to be the boot disk! There is a Disk 0 for some reason. Also I think one of the disk numbers was skipped or missing. I think it was 9 or 11 or something like that. Anyone know anything about this.

There are only 15 disks. The problem came up because the original set of disks was numbered incorrectly. So, there is no disk 11; and disk 15 is indeed the bootdisk. There's nothing wrong with your set, don't worry!

Phew
That's good to hear. Took about an hour to download that lot. I think it's the biggest disk game EVER on the Amiga. Don't quote me on that though.
I've renamed all my Beneath a Steel Sky ADFs accordingly I just hope the game doesn't ask for a disk 11 and it really means 10 or something like that. Cheers morph72 |

Hall Of Fame
Yes, Beneath A Steel Sky takes the award for most number of disks at 14.
Next at 12 disks is Bloodnet AGA, Biiing! and The Adventures Of Willy Beamish. Flight Of The Amazon Queen, Indiana Jones And The Fate Of Atlantis (Adventure), Monkey Island 2: Le Chuck's Revenge and Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo AGA are all 11 disks. The 1 disk award, however, goes to well over 1,670 games. |

Errrmmm.
I think your a little wrong there. I'm positive Beneath a steel Sky is 15 disks. I'll check when I get home tonight. Can anyone verify this? Also I'm pretty sure the AGA version of Rise of the Robots comes in second place as that was on 13 disks. I'm pretty sure about this as I had the original version. I'm ashamed to admit that. I did get it free though

Does anyone have the original of Beneath a Steel Sky?

I seem to remember it having a disk "missing" when i lent the amiga version off a friend.
That wasnt the retail version though. One of the other disks was messed up anyway so i couldnt get very far. |

Fast Disk Access
I have created a HDF out of it fredtgreat so don't worry. I know it's painfully slow from floppys. It loads every time you walk into a new room which is all the time. It's very playable as a HDF. Has any got very far with playing this game under WinUAE? I comleted it when I had my Amiga a few years ago. But now on WinUAE there appears to be a problem when you access one of those terminals. I think it's when you do a retina scan or something like that. The game crashes every time. Anyone noticed this under WinUAE 0.8.8.

Did you try WinFellow? How about alternate versions of WinUAE, or changing some of the configs?

Disk 11 in BASS
Quote:
I know this is an oldish post but I searched through the old messages for my problem and found this post. I have had this problem just today when playing BASS. The games asked for disk 11, but seeing as there is no disk 11, i'm not sure what to do. Can anybody help? Many thanks |

Full HD version from CD32 with speech is available from back to the roots. Me and the missus completed the whole game on the latest winuae without a hitch.

You'll notice the TOSEC names list the games internal disk numbers next to them so you know what disk it's really asking for. |
