Hi All

Just getting use to my a500 and wondering is there away of installing workbench directly on the a500 for boot up or does it have to be loaded by disk. Thanks in advance.

There are various HD/CF solutions for the A500 which will allow WB to be loaded.

As davideo mentioned, you'll need a hard drive (and controller such as an A590), and or a 3rd party HD/CF option.

Are you planning on running a lot of stuff off Workbench ?

Hi , thanks for the reply. I dont have plans to run too much off Workbench at the moment. I just like the option of having it loaded and the best way to to do it. Thanks again.

For A500 you either have to have HD drive extension (connect ti left side of amiga) or a card with built in controller. You would also need better os than 1.3 to fully utilize workbench, but without clear plan what to do with it, might be pointless.

You can run some games off hard disk, some programs and if you have additional memory even some whdload as long as you have later kickstart (not sure what is now required to run whdload) and some extra memory, as 1/2 meg will not get you far.

What kickstart and do you have any extra memory in your Amiga?
