Removing OS 3.9 reset
I got some OS 3.9 ROMS and installed AmigaOS 3.9. I then updated with Boing Bags 1 and 2. I'm still getting a double reset on cold boot. Can anyone advise on how to achieve a non-resetting AmigaOS 3.9 installation?

Either burn a 3.9 rom for your system, Use some kickstart flash solution like Deneb, Kickflash, etc or just skip the update alltogether and loose many new features.

I did get some burned 3.9 roms from amigamaniac. He wasn't sure how they were made but said they stopped the reset. I'm not sure if the roms include the boing bag 1and 2 rom updates.
Does anyone know what updates to the roms were made by BB1 and BB2? Is there a way to see if the BB1 and BB2 rom updates have been burned into the rom. If not can the BB1 and BB2 rom updates be omitted in software eg by modifying the startup-sequence? If so what features and functions will i miss out on? |

Okay, lets go step by step:
If you have the Amigamaniac 3.9 roms installed on your Amiga, do the following: 1.Move or rename SYSevs/AmigaOS Rom Update to something/somewhere else. 2.Cold boot your Amiga 3.Open a CLI/Shell and type "version exec.library" without the "" 4.If it says 45.20, you have the 3.9 roms working, and your problem solved 5.If not, undo point 1 and we go on from there Let me know how it goes. |

You Sir, are a God amongst ants.
Thank you. It says Version 45.2 of exec library. What about scsi.device? Is that also updated in the ROM? And whilst I'm at it, to get rid of another boot delay, do you know which way the A4000 IDE terminator goes on the 40 pin IDE interface? |

Well, do version scsi.device and see what it says?

Do as Jope says, report back what the version number of scsi.device is. If it is something equal to 43.43 then your rom has also the 3.9 scsi.device, if it is greater than that you have support for nearly any drive size.
Regarding the ide terminator, if you bought it from Amigakit, just open a support ticket and ask them. They will give you the answer you are looking for. |

Then edit the Startup-sequence and on the Setpatch line you simply add NOROMUPDATES at the end of the line.
The line will show as "Setpatch NOROMUPDATES". Save and reboot. |
