One box of disks left...

I have one box of 10 disks left to write for my newly running A1000.

What should I put on them?

I'm interested in the earlier games, when OCS and 512K was standard.

I'm thinking:
  • Marble Madness
  • Defender of the Crown (2 disks, I think)
  • Lemmings

Other games on the short list:
  • SuperCars 2
  • It Came from the Desert
  • SpeedBall 2
  • Populous 2
  • R Type 2
  • Xenon 2
  • Rainbow Islands
  • Shadow of the Beast
  • The Faery Tale Adventure
  • Stunt Car Racer
  • Battle Chess

I'm obviously trying to recreate something here, and I don't think anyone there can read my mind, but are there obvious omissions?

I probably need to leave a few for important applications, like Deluxe Paint, but I need to work that out separately.

Deluxe Paint III - Is that the last one before it started it becoming slow and awkward?

Digi Paint - Yes, definitely, I actually paid for that.

Rainbow Islands - Yes, already on the list, for some reason I loved it, even if everyone I knew didn't.

Rick Dangerous - Meh, maybe, only saw it later on, never saw the appeal.

I'd add Bubble Bobble, New Zealand Story and Wonderboy in Monsterland.
I love these games

Mind Walker - don't know why it doesn't get mentioned much, but it's one of the first games I ever saw on the Amiga, and was wowed by it. I love the music in it.

I could never work out how to play it. Maybe it was too cerebral for me.

If we're talking Amiga 1000 years (mainly 85-86) then I'd add

One-on-one
Seven Cities Of Gold
Deja Vu
Arctic Fox/Skyfox

One of the first game which requires an additional 512k of slow ram IIRC, so according to your criteria, it doesn't qualify.

R Type II
First opus did benefit from a more careful execution, wouldn't you agree ?

Baal deserves a mention too, but I won't deny it's a bit on the frustrating side, so play it with a trainer if you can. Same could be said about Spindizzy. Last but not least, Winter Games (when switched into NTSC mode) & Sinbad are great games too.

I'd say Psygnosis as you guessed. It was the first Amiga game i saw, runnung in 1000 hooked to a nasty stereo equipment cranked to max volume and the intro with the barbarian slashing the chains almost busted the entire palace

I liked the Palace title too but i could finish it in half an hour using the same three moves.
The box covers where both awesome even if one was more about art and the other about boobs
