guys i tried but the only 320x256 resolution i found below 60hz at 15kz is at 58hz and so nothing changes, leander europe or usa run the same way, the only fullscreen in leander is on the image of the lion with the inscription leander before the boot screen... leander for me run like this pictures
someone with an amiga or winuae and a crt screen can post an image of the game without filters? Last edited by Luca underdog; 30 September 2020 at 19:09. |

320x256@50Hz is Full Screen on every PAL CRT device. What do you mean with "vertical is too small"? If it's too small then you are trying to play a game with PAL overscan = more than x256. Maybe you should post a few pictures to show us your issue ( your real monitor). And the exact WinUAE settings too. What about the Arcade monitor? Does it have h/v resizing or Image shifting knobs?
edit: For Leander. This game isn't full screen ingame. The black bars are normal. It's coded that way. Try some Team 17 games if you want to test real fullscreen ingame. If you want Leander ingame fullscreen you have to use the scaling function in WinUAE, or maybe the h/v resizing knobs from your CRT monitor. But it changes the aspect ratio or cut something left and right (scaling). Last edited by Retro-Nerd; 02 October 2020 at 03:28. |

then the other games too(beastlord, giana, harlequin, shadow of the beast I-II-III, r-type) incorrectly report fullscreen?because team17 games go fullscreen without problems...I didn't want to force leander into fullscreen but read the list I thought I had something wrong with it...

For whatever reason for ‘fullscreen’ he has stated: “ (FS) - Gameplay area is Full Screen (at least 288x200 , or the same amount of pixels)” |

I think 288*200 of gameplay under NTSC is a reasonable size to consider as minimum for FS. I mean, having a 320*200 mode and allowing for 32 pixels for a possible status bar is enough to consider it as such.

sorry, maybe my experience with arcade cabinets has taken over, for me overscan is an image that juts out, underscan is an image that does not fill the whole screen, fullscreen is fullscreen, without black bands or with small margins

it's all about the video signal. A full 320x256 pal will still have some black borders around whereas a 320x200 ntsc, despite having a lower pixel count, will appear as full screen. 1084 monitors have controls to eliminate those borders, modern LCD ones have some zoom options as well.

Unfortunately in the Amiga world it's best to get used to it. If you adjust your monitor you will mess with AR, and the next game might have some other settings, so it's a rabbit hole. Try finding NTSC native versions when possible and you can try to force NTSC on PAL ones, but this might glitch the games and speed up music/gameplay. |

Look pretty normal to me. As i said. Games with real fullscreen, without any black bars/black frame, are rare on the Amiga. Try i.e. Superfrog, which fills nearly the whole screen.

Yup, looks normal to me also...
Here's screenshots of "Leander" and "Super Hang-On", which I took in WinUAE with the correct aspect ratio in windowed mode 720x568: ...and here's "Superfrog": |

While WinUAE is showing the full PAL overscan iirc. On a lot of CRTs via real Amiga Super Frog should be full screen.

Cutted black bars, or using an emulator with scaling. Or zoom options on your TV. There are several ways to achieve that.
