If you have an Amiga with an internal CF drive or any other way of playing whdload games such as through Emulation like WinUAE, then this may be the software update that your Amiga thanks you for. Although there are other OS utilities to play Amiga games such as AG-launch and X-Bench, iGame was one of the most practical of game launchers during any CF install. So if you remember it, especially if you've installed ClassicWB, then you'll be pleased to know iGame has reached version 2 and it's the first public beta!

Yes it's forked from MrZammler/iGame and Author is Midwan or better known as Dimitris Panokostas.

Just replacing the current folder igame .exe ... the genres do not work. Anyone know what change is required to get them working again? Spent many hours creating demo group names and getting each demo into the genre name.

Well it is a BETA - for a fresh start, this might be okay? But for me using the 060 version - i got this issue.


Genres were listed but all empty, despite my gameslist still having each demo listed by groupname correctly listed.
When doing a properties on one demo - it was listed as unknown - so i corrected it....



I then examined the gamelist to see what changes happened and learn what changes i can do to fix the rest ..... and found simply, there was a blank line between the "genre" and "path"


So i added the same blank line to another demo but found when i loaded igame back in, the one that i actually manuall fixed, didn't work at all, and when i checked the gameslist again, the path= was empty - it wiped the path - despite actually watching the demo on the previous load.


So the config was wiping the line when exiting igame?


Its BETA - happy to see this updated, definitely seems snappier - but i might need to wait for another version or two.

Well i signed up, gone through page after page of github goodness, and nowhere do i see any way to report issues, i only found a page where he lists his own issues he wants to fix in his todo list. The issue i have bought up is very similar and kinda between two other todo things he has. And it not github or nothing as he posted this to facebook, so i'll chat to him there and see if he is already aware or if he wanted a detailed description.

Make sure you are using Beta 2 (https://github.com/midwan/iGame/releases), there were some fixes since Beta 1.

Seems to run ok, had some issues and had to start from scratch rebuilding the database.

Anyone have an updated IFF screenshot archive available? I seem to be missing a lot of IFF screenshots...

Thanks for the info, ransom. I want to have this clear though. Does it mean that MrZammler has hand over any update of iGame and that from now on it will be Dimitris that will continue with his labour?

Or should we keep both versions?. I don't like two versions of the same thing. If it's an update it's perfect for me. I really don't understand what's going on.
