Amiga 3400 - who's the new owner?

Who bought this Amiga 3400?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/174845205390

Make yourself known perhaps and make some YouTube videos about it, would you?

pssshaw. You could 100 of those if you would just sell off that Apple I that's been collecting dust in the attic. And still have enough left over to buy a C-65 or two.

Just like the Nasa Amigas that sold a while back with software still on the hard drives for crazy money, we'll probably never know where they went. My guess a private personal collection. I would like to see more of them too.

Can't really do much that a nearly stock 1200 can't do.

But the prototype case design is quite unique. I'm quite fond of it, and the black as well. Not crazy about lack of 5 1/4 bay for obvious reasons. This isn't the type of thing you modify either! All the value is in the front of the case in my view, and perhaps Beta firmware if that floats your boat.

Otherwise it is a very expensive A4000.

We can deduce it went to Australia...

Perfect seller, great communication, arrived very well packed for its journey from Europe to Australia!

Neither here nor there, but I have to tell you, I was always bothered a bit that the A1000, A2000 and A3000 did not have a large AMIGA embossed on it.

A500 had it. A600 had it. A1200 had it. A4000 had it.

As I said, neither here nor there, but it seems like a branding oversight.

A4000 made it right and nice to see that even this uber rare A3400 had that embossed AMIGA on the face.

Someone should make the RAM cover for A1000 with AMIGA embossed. A2000 floppy drive cover with AMIGA embossed. A3000 floppy drive cover with AMIGA embossed...if for no other reason than to correct his oversight for the OCD inflicted.

Here is an idea for someone - reproduce that front panel of the 3400 for A4000 owners.

Not convinced that'd work, at least convincingly. They're completely different structures. The 4000 floppy is where a 3000 PSU lives and the 3000 floppy is above a gap with no mounting holes and the cpu board underneath. Behind the fascia is a solid metal plate too. I think it might be easier to transplant to a checkmate case.

Good call.
One should ask on the Australian’s Facebook groups (there are quite a few).
Australia has long record of Amiga supporting community (both hardware and software, for example SysInfo, probably the most used Amiga software these days... lol).

Looks ugly. Production model A4000 is much nicer.

I would rather have a normal 5 1/4" bay than a molded floppy bay too. Of all of my A4000s none of them have a floppy drive. The top bevel overhang isn't a bad look but could be improved.
