A600 with fast ram expansion crashes with ClassAct and/or net apps

A600
3.1 ROM
Kipper2ks 4 MB RAM expansion
Roadshow68k with 3COM PCMCIA NIC

ClassAct Prefs - crashes as soon as started
AWEB 3.2 demo - crashes as soon as started

ramlib error (#80000004) in both cases, Snoopdos doesn't help in any way.

Actually, AmIRC and AmFTP crashes too as soon as they are doing a successful connection (error #8000003).

Some more info:
Tested three different PSUs. No difference.
Removed the chip ram expansion (gives me 1 MB chip and 4 MB fast), makes no difference.
Removed the fast ram expansion (gives me 2 MB chip only), still ramlib failure trying to start ClassAct Prefs.
WHDLoad works great, eating up most of both chip and fast mem.

Bad caps perhaps?

I'm running ClassicWB 68K on this system. One theory is that some files requires 020 or FPU and therefore crashes when running on 68000.

One more hint:

NCFTP quits with "bus error" as soon as it's successfully connected to a FTP server.

Someone with the exact same ClassAct problem:

Solution: Changed from Classic WB to default WB 3.1. Seems like something in Classic WB is really broken on 68000.

Hi, sorry for the late response. You need to download the classact2demo file from Aminet, then manually copy across the layout.gadget file 68000 version. I must have left a 020 version in there and the installer for classact will not replace newer files, hence the crash.

This version was converted across from the 020 LITE and I removed classact as it wasn't required for the default install, so never noticed that a Classact 020 layout.gadget file was left in the drawer. This will be fixed by the next version.
