Typhoon MK2 & A1200 SCSI CDRom Project
Well, I thought I would share with you all...
My SCSI Cable came today from Vesalia so that I can connect up my External CDRom via the 50pin header on my Accelerator card. I am pleased to say that after connecting up the cable and much fiddling to make it fit with the floppy drive it all seams to work (except for a couple of software failures but I think that was down to CDRW that has been re-burnt a lot of times) I took some pics as below, still to do: I need to create a mount or bracket to fix the connector port to the case, this will be fun I will probably just cut a hole in the original plastic SCSI port cover and Screw it to the cable. Have purchased a couple of CD32/CDTV games off of ebay so I will report on how/if they work Last edited by fitzsteve; 14 June 2010 at 10:21. |

Looks good steve - have you played Wasted Dreams?.... It is a good Amiga CD title to pick up... as is Final Odyssey.
It is worth having a CD attached to an Amiga as there are a few CD images to download from the EAB Server now. |

It's looking good there Steve
Get that port cover drilled out and she'll almost be complete. I've got a spare cover you can have FOC if your drill slips! Magno |

I just googled 'Amiga Wallpaper'
I found a couple of nice ones, that is with 64 colour, it looks a little better with 128 or 256 but I like the extra speed. If you PM me an email address I can send them to you. Steve. Edit... Here it is: http://www.ppa.pl/graffiti/obrazek.php?id=35&full=1 |

Locate an old parallel bracket from an old pc and use it. All you need is to cut it short and then hot-glue it inside the Amiga. Pretty much the same thing people do to attach an Indivision connector. Obviously in this case they use the first video card they can grab. Merry Xmas! |

Thanks for the tip Rkauer, I've not done anything yet! In fact I'll have to re route the cable a bit becuase with the floppy drive in place and the case secured with screws the scsi cable is sticking out about an inch and you cant push it back in! I'm sure I can make it all fit though
Happy Xmas to you too! |

Well I founf something that I could use to *try* and fix the cable properly. It looks a little better and will do until I come across a muti I/O back plate or something. I didn't glue it in place yet for that reason but its a pretty tight fit and looks better then having the cable haning out!

Just a little tip: Your Amiga will breathe easier with an AT/ATX PSU... I see you're using the Amiga 500 brick, it's still not optimal for an A1200 with HDD (non-CF), accelerator, going-to-use-indivision, PCMCIA and so on.. I know the AT/ATX hack makes the PSU look ugly, but it's for her best!

I have a nice ATX PSU I could use, but I would like it in some kind of enclosure. I wonder if anyone makes such a thing? Steve. |

A good half hour of google I've found nothing LOL
Might get one of those ATX-Amiga cable and fix the PSU under my desk, drill a hole through for the cable/switch. Its one of those Colours-it PSU's that has the LED's would give a nice glow under the desk Must stop buying stuff.. Aghhhhhhhhhhh. |
