Found the Asm-One Manual on Archive.org
Someone must have uploaded it recently
Get the PDF here. (Stingray mentioned a text version, I've asked him to please upload it. Good for reference on a floppy or CF card!) With the System Programmer's Guide it's almost all you need to learn to code demos. Reading these books is better than HRM - HRM is mostly for reference and doesn't contain any examples. My "ASMSKOOL" is now up to part 9 and I've actually got stuff moving on the screen by now. I'm taking it very step by step. |

But I'm glad you enjoy it of course, and I will continue it - it's completely improvised, so I don't know what will be in the next part, but the plan is to show all the steps until there is a demo running with music and graphics. (So when the time comes I'll show how to draw gfx in DPaint and convert it, and how to make a tune and use the playroutine and so on.) |

I've found a German text version of the ASM-One manual mentioned above. For everyone who's interested...

I've uploaded the small version I made to Coppershade.org, V1.02+.
This and Asm-One 1.20 (couldn't get a link before because the webpage was down) are used in the tutorials, so far at least. Asm-One V1.48 and Asm-Pro can probably be used too, maybe even Seka V3.2, without many differences. It's a matter of what works on your unexpanded A500, accelerator, or emulator. Try them all and see which works best. They're all basically the same. |

I would just like to say thanks to Photon for his great tutorials.
I haven't done any Amiga programming involving custom chips in ages, it was fun to try it again after all this time, even if it is just a spinning ball [ Show youtube player ] Still have to figure out the blitter though ... Cheers! |

Now there are two more Asmskool episodes, and I've started on the blitter. I've uploaded the Project Directory with the sources for all tutorials, so you can jump in at any step. Go to coppershade.org and get the necessary files and manuals, then click on to Youtube.

Nope, the files are big. Ytconv.net might be able to make them smaller.

I've been enjoying the videos since finding an Amiga 1000 system on craigslist last week. Keep up the great work, and your voice is fine. I'm up to lesson 12 and learning a lot. Being new to Amiga and not knowing the go-to apps, even the DeluxePaint part was helpful.
Thank you! |

Have had to come in and say thanks as well Photon for the great series.
Assembler was the main language I used back in the day but never for demos, only for utilities. Not having access to any books (was poor back then) I had to go by magazine tutorials and whatever I could find on coverdisks or from friends. No-one I knew used C so assembler it was. Learning loads! Have downloaded all the videos onto my PC so I can access when offline and yes, they're big I've commented on YouTube as YesiPleb |
