Cant find info on this card

Hi, i just bought another A1200 (for my little brother). It has an accelerator installed, but the 1 thats listed in it, I cant find any where to see what it is.

Its apparently a Power Computing PC1208 ISSUE 2A. The FPU is quoted as being a MC68882RC33A.

If anyone can shed any light, or point me in the right direction to info on it, that would be great.

You da man, thats the 1. Its installed with 8 Megs, so thats deffo the 1. I was looking for the AMiga Hard Page, that is linked on that thread, but couldnt find it.

Next question, does this card disable the PCMCIA slot when set to 8Megs?

That's a good question, maybe you try it yourself. There are no infos about the 8 MB card on amiga resource. But maybe alex knows more.

Again you da man, That answers that question.

"with 8 MB RAM installed, the memory address space can be set either continuous or PCMCIA compatible"

So im happy,

http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/search....&base=dec&pid=

it states it has a jumper to allow the memory to be configured as pcmcia friendly.

I dont see how it is possible with a 24-bit address bus.

I wonder at what address it stuffs the other 4-meg?

It would almost certainly need a driver to access that 4-meg would it not?

@alexh

hmmmm i think it must come down to address jumping or off-setting, this would cause some problems running a mac emulator as it would need a full contigious block of ram.

but to be honest, thats just a guess from what they have wrote on amiga.resource

indeed, an interesting card.. FOL will just have to let us know how he gets on. I for one am indeed envious, I would love to test this card out..

Its exactly the same as the card you posted apart from jumpers are in different places.

1 is the 4meg limiter for pcmcia compatability, 1 is for clock (aint worked it out yet, on it works, off i get yellow screen) and the other is the disable whole card jumper.

It doesnt seem to clock at 33MHz, this is the first time i have delt with a co-processor installed. I have tested speed with sysinfo, and it always seems to come back as around 22MHz, ill do some more tests though.

Its odd, that there is no information on this card at all on the net. I can tell you it was poorly designed, as the trap door will not shut properly, hence the door had been cut to make it fit.
