Digital punk music for Amiga lovers ...

Hi! We're PAULA POWERED a digital/British/French trio powered by PAULA.

Digital - coz our beloved A12 (Amiga 1200) gives us our chip tune sound;
British - coz our singer Sally Ann was born & bred in East London;
French - coz we're in France & Sylvain de St Pierre does our programming (Octamed Soundstudio) & the guitar parts ....

Anyways, check out this "live at home" video and let us know what you think.

Great, I think you have skills to make also some nice remixes of famous Amiga tunes. Keep up the good work.

Why would they waste time making covers/remixes of old tunes when they are making their own stuff? Jeez...

Keep up your own original work dudes.

It's true Akira, all our songs are programmed / written by us ... However, many of the old Amiga tunes and game music have inspired our sound.

Also, we consider ourselves really lucky as we find creating our own stuff easier than doing covers!!!

Thanx for ur support!

The .med of Hazy Crazy is still in the Amiga ... however, here is the link to another of our songs "Vivienne Westwood":

And, here's the link for the .med:

Hope you enjoy both!

Nice. Thanks for sharing. Though, I kinda hastily concluded that ALL was made on OSS. Obviously not
Sharing the MMD1 (not 3 ?) makes no sense. Sorry I asked.
Basically, the instruments are all set up in Octamed and the singer comes in. You record the lot and encode the result. Neat.

Wish you good luck to your group
Cheers

@ Asle :

We started with OctaMed V5.4, now we've upgraded to OSS for 2 reasons:
1) We can use as many commands as we like e.g. a vibrato and an arpeggio on the same sample;
2) We are in the process of using Scala that's controlled by OSS via Arexx to broadcast images / anims during the live set (in fact, we're researching which type of video projector we need!).

Re sharing the MMD1 - our version of Octamed can only record up to MMD2.

Thanx for your feedback.

Glad you stumbled across it and bumped it, Vegas.

Are these guys still going?? Last video on YouTube is a year old.. I don't go on ArseBook so I'm not sure if there's anything on there. I love it when musicians use all manner of whatever to get creative.

@Akira - You made a comment on making covers. Remember, making a cover your own also shows your inventiveness and versatility as an artist. Many musicians and bands have made covers more successful than the original artists did. And it seems that Paula Powered have also [ Show youtube player ]..

Great stuff!
