VOB speedup-system adapter

Does anyone know the best settings for VOB speedup-system adapter? I've tried installing the VOB proprietary software, and it completely failed to register the secondary IDE header (units 2 and 3) - however IDEfix does recognise the devices on units 2 and 3 when set to VOB setting.
So I'm currently back on IDEfix.

Googling revealed a posting here by Keropi in which s/he was selling a VOB adapter stating it could manage around 2.95MB/s. If you're still around Keropi I would appreciate the input of your experience - the best I'm able to manage at the moment is around 2.1MB/s (using diskspeed to test at various buffer settings).
System: A1200_BPPC060@60/603@200_MediatorSX,Voodoo3,SB128,spider2,RTL8139
running OS3.9,BB1&2

k is here!

I *never* touched any settings, I just installed idefix and selected the VOB adapter, and nothing more. And I got ~2,9MB/sec with a 20GB 7200rpm Seagate Barracuda HD and a 030/28 accel.
But since you have a bppc, due to it's design, the HD transfer rate would be slower... I have a FastATA MK1 and with a 1260/50 I was getting 6.2MB/sec, now with my bppc 060/60 I get 5.1MB/sec... perhaps the same applies to the 4x adapters...

It's a known fact that with a 68060 accelerator the IDE bus is slower than with a 68030.

yip... not sure about the comparisons of 030 and 060 but on my system running an 060 and transferring from my 60g to my 120g...

say 10 files of 3-400 megs...

I could have a shower, eat dinner and come back and there'll still be 2-3 files left to move...

Thanks all,

I'll put it down to these combined factors then. I suppose I'm lucky to be getting >2mb/s in that case.

Nice to see some familiar names from A.org frequenting this forum. It's been a while since I've been here.
