Xenon 2/Megablast Track and the Assault on Precinct 13 samples

Bomb the Bass used remixed Assault of Precinct 13 samples for the Megablast track. But it's very obvious that they've only modified these ones from "The Splash Band". This group made a John Carpenter Remix album in the mid 80s. The samples are from the track "The End (Disco)".

The track name is badly retranslated from the German Assault release, which is also known here as "Das Ende". Looks like they never known the original name of this movie.

Here's a mp3 sample of this track:

Not really a find. I bought the LP in 1986. So i noticed it immediately after playing Xenon 2 for the first time.

Kinda diminishes the wow factor, ignorance is a bliss I guess.

I recently saw the blu-ray release of assault, the new DTS mix really makes the tune stand out

The original movie and the JC score is awesome. A shame that they've made this awful remake. Is the BluRay image quality much better than the old DVD releases?

How did you manage to miss that song back in the day (tm)? O_O It was played on the radio day in, day out and it annoyed the hell out of me.

Really don't know how I managed that... Especially as I tried to get all the early dance stuff at some time (yes, yes I know Sting ).

I'm sure most of you already know this, but the Gods title track 'Into the Wonderful' was also a 'real' tune first.
