This is all amazing stuff. Mini amiga is best piece of hardware I've bought in years!!!

Using aminimiga for WB and tools.. I'm using the included Blitz Basic 2.1 and deluxe paint. Can I use this method to try learn making games for original amiga and play or because it's on emulation it won't work?

Also, noted since installing a iniamiga WB which is amazing.. The mini amiga won't power off, holding power button down or in menu shutting down gives a black screen but power light is on. Have to pull cable to fully turn off. Anyone else experience that?!

Yep, standard bug. I switch it of at the plug when I reach the black screen. I guess BlitzBasic 2 code could be exported off THEA500 Mini for use on Classic 'miggies etc. How stable it is for compiling etc remains to be seen.

Amazing work... This mini amiga is best piece of kit! Does this affect the way it operates as amiga system or just a load in like whd and WB etc?

It doesn't work with save states. The A500 mini makes a folder with the memory dump and a base config in it which is loaded when the save state is selected again. This config is very different to my standard config therefore crashes out Amiberry. I dont think that it is fixable. I'm going to have a look when I've completed v1.1 which is nearly done.

Figured out how to map 3rd and 4th controllers for games that can take advantage of that if anyone is interested -

Impressive! I didn't even know PS3 pads worked! I'm guessing you've got a powered USB hub for all of those controllers etc?

Pandory - adds more emulators and system! - retro arch, master system, mega drive, n64, ps1, mame, scummvm, and other systems, plus gives access to the linux command line.

Just to say, this mod - at least at present - only works if your A500 mini is on its original, out of the box, firmware.
The recent 1.1.0 and 1.1.1 firmware upgrades break Pandory mod compatibility.

something though which I was only very recently made aware of - if you install the PCUAAE 'softmod' under firmware 1.0.0 - it still works under firmware 1.1.1 if you update (since the 'mod' adds in some scripts to the NAND and those scripts aren't deleted with the current official A500 mini firmware updates - which is why is still works under 1.1.1 - so with that you get RetroArch, newer AmiBerry, VICE etc. and the official ADF support on the carousel.

Back to 4-player games testing...

I've tested Amiga 4-player adapter games under Pandory and while the results aren't generally great, I can get 3-player Blitz Bombers going with 4-player adapter enabled in-game with an additional PS3 controller with 2No. RGL Gamepads as players 1 & 2.

No messing and no editing of config files and no mapping of keyboard controls required (though I could probably get player 4 working on the keyboard with in-game settings thinking about it)!

Shame the same didn't work for Xtreme Racing, Gauntlet 2 or Tanks Furry (Tanks Fury wouldn't even boot with "couldn't detect a 68020" message)!

Just a thought... That could really make mini amiga amazing! Well.. Amazing would be a mini amiga release with built in amiga keyboard... But that was a missed opportunity... Just my opinion!

Anyway, with aminimiga work bench and latest version with x copy... Is there a way (yet to be found?) for. Rearing amiga floppies on the mini amiga to use on a real amiga?! Perhaps a USB floppy drive (if such thing exists)

There is a project to hack this into place but it's very custom and you'd have to use a pin to operate it! As for the floppy drive; there are floppy design USB sticks or there are hacks to install an SD card reader where the disk drive is! Label your SD cards like floppies and you have a mini floppy drive effect!

Not only your opinion. This - and my bad experience with the C64 Mini/Maxi dusting around in my basement - have hold me back ordering an A500 Mini.

Just connect a usb keyboard if you need a keyboard! Its great that it is kept small and compact, would take up too much space with full size keyboard IMHO

Personally I prefer my Pi400 with Amiberry over the A500 mini due to it‘s nice form factor and the fact it‘s more open and easy to customize. But agree, the case of the A500 mini is nice.

For sure a Pi400 is a excellent option, but this A500 mini is great for all who just remembers the Amiga and is without technical knowledge/time to make own solution
