Workbench Crashes Using the HD

Hi All. I'm having a couple of problems with my HD on Amiga 1200:

I mount my A1200 Hard disk on WinUAE and using Dopus I start to copy some files. I can copy 10, 20 files, then the WinUae reboots showing a red sign (similar to A500 GURU MEDITATION).

The same thing happened to me yesterday when I wanted to do a test by installing the Classic Workbench Lite in a partition: It started to unzip the System.ZIP, unzipped a couple of files, and again the same. All this running under WinUAE.

Now, in the REAL Amiga 1200, I Format a disk partition. When finished, it reboots instead to show INITIALIZING DISK. Sometimes reboots showing red sign error and sometimes just restarted without showing it

Should I replace my Hard disk?.

By the way, I made a DISK SCAN and they returned me two lines of BAD BLOCK.

I appreciate if you can help me.

Oh, my amiga config is: Classic Worbench with Smart File System, 60Gb 2.5 Hard Drive, Kick 3.1 Rom, and Aca1232 accelerator card (128MB + 030). I use A500 power supply.

Greetings!.

I'm wondering if an A500 power supply is enough to power the ACA?

This should be considered for the real Amiga. But if it crashes in WinUAE, too, then there also is a software problem.

Most likely reason is usual 4G wrap around (if IDE emulation is in use). WinUAE is "max transfer compatible".

A500 power supply is fine if it is 4.5A version.

Hi all, I have just read your answers.

@Thomas:
I have two partitons. One of 1Gb (where the OS is), and the second it's 56Gb.

I don't know version of scsi.device, sorry. And SFS is the last version, I think!

I think this is a problem with my hard disk, since the WinUAE crashes as well as the 1200.

Another thing that was happening is when I left the 1200 turned on several hours and after that, many games from the iGame had disappeared.
Then, when I wanted to browse through drawers, when I entered (for example) the C sub-drawer of GAMES drawer, The Amiga restarted again. I left the machine turned off an hour, turned on again, and everything went back to normal.

Thank you all for your help!

Create identical sized HDF and repeat same installation. It isn't the HD if HDF has exact same problem, it could be the HD if HDF works fine.

Remember to create "dynamic" HDF to save HD space!
