try with NTSC. For a strange reason, it's much better with NTSC, where the game seems to struggle in PAL when there's a lot of cars around. With an emulator, you can select "fastest possible" and maybe "immediate blitter" for best performance.
I almost made the games full AGA by using 8 bitplanes but I'm glad I didn't because 7 bitplanes is already very demanding (the background doesn't use hardware scrolling but it blitted every time. Note that it saves the hassle of saving the background of cars, etc... which would amount to blitting a big number of small zones... Game cannot use sprites because of shadows and bridges... Cannot use dual playfield for the same reason + huge number of colors even in ECS (32+EHB) Quote:

Could be done but 1) extra blit costs bandwidth 2) would have to be another option as it somehow trashes the visuals 3) work designing the sprites for the positions and 4) rather complex to handle with tunnels and all... well is that strange ? i mean the original PC game, now that i think of it, probably ran at 60Hz, so I would personally think this game should only be played at 60Hz

what is strange is that in PAL game has more time to blit graphics but it appears slow, whereas in NTSC game has less time to blit graphics and it appears smooth...

New version released. Repaired 2 player mode that I had broken. NTSC is also cool with fully functional status bar! in the zone. |

Tested it just now on my A1200 with blizzard1230IV.
Very nice, I really like it! Thanks a lot! The only strange thing I've found so far is that the statusbar on the bottom is flickering for some reason...Tried running in NTSC-mode also, but then the statusbar is cut in half.... |

@jotd - I never knew you could make the cars levitate. LOL @16:01 Race 6 on Hard Cheats - Most cars turn right after the finish line instead of looping down the the bottom in the figure 8 part of the track. Even the Homing missiles detour to the right after the finish line. I think the original SC2 Code is messed up there.. @17:02 Two cars do it. Also many more times throughout the level |

hint: no need for wonderland/the seer: just tick "enable permanent cheat mode" on startup
about the bugs (specially on hard 6) - cars blocked in mid air is an original bug. Happened to me a lot of times in the original. I don't know how hard it would be to fix it - cars turning right (also homing turning right, homing exploding on the wall of the loop instead of following it) is the result of the drone guidance system. play the original game you'll see the bugs are exactly the same. When cars reappear at the finish line, they just turn right, which makes this course the hardest one, even harder than hard 7. Funny thing is you can be 1st in that race after all other opponents have been destroyed. I've analysed the "map" files. It consists of values defining walls , slopes, jumps, checkpoints, but also codes to tell cars to go right; left, up, down. There's no A.I of course If someone is willing to create new tracks please contact me. BTW anyone noticed that the shades of the trains weren't properly applied?
