I did not intend to start a price competition between AmigaKit and Amedia, I just wanted to point out that messing around with DB23 is optional

As I said, I am quite content that SX32 uses VGA connector, that I can easily plug into SCART TV as well as VGA monitors, without needing adapters between for either.

@solidcore.. awesome

On the PUNT issue..

and

I'm pretty convinced that PUNT is connected to that CPLD. Hence I think my theory is panning out. These risers will not work with the TF328 or Spidi's board without a firmware reflash on the riser which would be a start from scratch thing unless someone has the source code for them.

Its not about a missing connection... its about that CPLD placing 5V on that connection when it shouldnt.

I'm not able to test my board as my CD32 has decided to choose now to crap out

So that will need fixing first! That's a bare CD32 with/without the fWSi as well...

Getting another riser looks like it'll matter too if you're correct plasmab

@AJCopland

If you have a mutimeter would you mind checking if that pin i highlighted on the fWSi is connected to this test point on the CD32?

3rd pin in on TP5.. the one with the pin soldered in.

Agh bad news
Seems like IDE isn't working.
Here is what is happening.

Noticed that the CD32 takes 10 seconds or more before it would go on the Early Startup menu.

On first try it didn't even show the expansion board, but I took it out and put it back in and now it shows up there as "working"

Boot Options show absolutely no devices there.

RAM seems to work because I booted a WHDLoad game off a compilation disc, a game that normally flashes a lot, and it was perfect so it all got preloaded in RAM (and it's a 4 floppy game so that's at least over 4MB tested)

I checked the CF in WinUAE and it is working fine.

Any ideas? I am using the kipper riser that has the bad keyboard issue (rev 5), but I removed the offending PIC from it.
I will later try removing my A1200's adapter and CF, known working, and put it there, see what happens.

You are the first to try a TF328 on a Kipper riser all mine are tested on the Terriblefire riser by cosmo or the Spidi one which are guaranteed to work my friend. you need a compatible riser, they tested for a full 6hrs on systest

Also dont forget it will take 15 seconds at least to boot it is CWB with the patched SCSI I.E the CD32 will boot twice !

Again I will reiterate you need a compatible riser

Kipper's riser is fine. Akira, make sure your CD32 doesn't have rom 40.56 instead of 40.60.

No need to use PFS for >4GB, just replace the scsi device at boot with loadmodule.

The 10+ second delay is not on boot, it happens before the CD32 will even get to the Early Startup Menu. This is unusual. Normally the ESM appears as soon as you power up. Sequence being: Screen blinks with dark grays,LED blinks, CD light blinks/CD access done, ESM shows up. This happens within 5 seconds.
Now I get screen blinks with grays, 10+ second wait with this screen, then CD access is tried then the ESM shows up. It's not a problem of the CF not booting, there's no IDE device showing on the boot options.

I'll open up the unit and look at the ROM.

[edit] I do have 40.60, so it's not the ROM.
