What a great project and nice video updates

At first I was a bit reluctant to order any hardware as my soldering skills and gear may not be up to the task, but after following the project for a while I decided to have a go at it.

Now I’m waiting for the parts to arrive and DirtyPCBs are taking their time. Three weeks ago I ordered some TF530 Rev 3 boards and they are still in production. The 68000 Relocator from EasyEDA that was ordered less than 2 weeks ago has already been shipped and should arrive soon.

I would like to have 4 megs of RAM on the TF530 and I thought that was possible with the A21 line routed on the Rev 3. However, I can’t find any 5V SRAM that large (1M x 8bit) and fast (12ns), and the pinout doesn’t seem to fit the slower ones I can find (e.g. AS6C8008).
Was the A21 line just for testing something else or what am I missing?

No ram chips were ever made at 5V. I added the A21 in hope someone could find a source.

I get a 2 week turnaround on my TF530s including shipping. I've been getting regular shipments

I don't see a DirtyPCBs order via my store dashboard that matches your name. All orders have shipped and there are no rev3s recent.

Unless you used the Gerber files direct rather than my link.. in which case I can't help.

Okay, I've finally gotten around to sorting my TF530 rev 2 out...

Trying to flash the CPLD's and I'm getting the following when initiating a boundary scan?

Quote:
Connecting to cable (Usb Port - USB21).
Checking cable driver.
Driver file xusb_xlp.sys found.
Driver version: src=1029, dest=1029.
Driver windrvr6.sys version = 8.1.1.0. WinDriver v8.11 Jungo (c) 1997 - 2006 Build Date: Oct 16 2006 X86 32bit SYS 12:35:07, version = 811.
Cable PID = 0008.
Max current requested during enumeration is 60 mA.
Type = 0x0004.
Cable Type = 3, Revision = 0.
Setting cable speed to 6 MHz.
Cable connection established.
Firmware version = 1029.
File version of C:/Xilinx/10.1/ISE/data/xusb_xlp.hex = 1302.
Firmware hex file version = 1302.
Downloading C:/Xilinx/10.1/ISE/data/xusb_xlp.hex.
Downloaded firmware version = 1302.
Type = 0x0004.
ESN option: 00000000000000.
PLD file version = 0012h.
PLD version = 0012h.
PROGRESS_END - End Operation.
Elapsed time = 3 sec.
Attempting to identify devices in the boundary-scan chain configuration...// *** BATCH CMD : Identify
write count != nBytes(0), rc = 20000015.
write cmd failed 20000015.
write cmdbuffer failed 20000015.
Error reading reference voltage level.
// *** BATCH CMD : identifyMPM
write cmdbuffer failed 20000015.
Powering the card through the amiga motherboard, and I'm running through win xp via parallels desktop...

Any ideas? I can see the part where it can't read the reference voltage level, but if it's powered through the amiga, it should have that available?

Thanks, that explains it. I guess I'll have to wait for the TF534S.

I wrote DirtyPCBs a message maybe that helps

That order isn't on my store dashboard. It may have gone missing.

Update nº 2 on the 68882 problem:

Managed to boot my A500 @KS3.1, "hacking" the 68882. Used freezer spray on the 68882, like a "terrible freeze".

This was the resulting mess:

After removing the FPU :

Is it possible that the 68882 are 16mhz ones ??? I don’t also understand why do I have a different MEM map, DENISE chip and cpu clock .

To be absolutely sure, I would need a tested 40mhz 68882, does anyone knows where can I buy one of those ??

Weird. Let's hope the good folks at DirtyPCBs can help me then.
Thank you for looking into this.

I may be masking the Denise ID accidentally. Not noticed that before. Gary is D0 with the ram enabled which is correct

I have noticed that my CPLD's are the 7ns industrial version. Is it possible that the issue is timing related ?

I did try to figure it out by looking to the tf530_bus.v but I'm a bit lost on VHDL.

The next test that I'm think is to slow the clock to the lowest possible to exclude the possibility of chinese remarked FPU.

7ns is not supported by me. I did the timing based on the 10ns.

Supposed to be 2C12R.......
Well I took the plunge and got one.

It looks quite all right. No hammer strikes, no bent pins

Now, what could I use it for...

Hi Plasma just idea if people buy the aliance industrial versions it's cheaper than the commercial version @same ns at an rs com suppliers, which is almost the same price as the iss ram, unless I am wrong / mistaken I have used industrial version 12tin but not soak tested, but it only a temperature range difference? Thanks in advance and you're a top bloke!

If correct should I do a request on the Bom?

OK I do understand, when I get some time I'll give the AS7C4096A-12TIN a soak test and let you know my findings, @£3.76 each chip, I thought I'd give that ago.

Many thanks & I am loving the developments on the cd32!

i'd like to share my personal experience in following:
i have several TF530 Rev.2 boards. One of them is flashed with 50Mhz firmware and has 50Mhz oszillator, works perfect giving me 7600 dhrystones, because of 15ns memory chips). I had some trouble with other boards, beeing unable to start any WHDLoad game, also Keir's Memtest failed to run and crashed immediately after start (diagROM shows no memory issues!).
Have played with these boards today, trying to flash all firmwares i have, i found out, that it was firmware related! It keeps to fail @24 - 40Mhz, however, it runs fine on 50Mhz firmware without any issue. I am able to start games, Keir's memtest is at @round 171.1 atm, and it keeps running..
