I tried yesterday Gauntlet Seven Sorrows for PS2. Nice game but over time it gets boring.

Been playing Torchlight on the PC. A Diablo'ish dungeon crawler. I've never played Diablo but this is good stuff.

I recommend it gimbal. As I said, I've never played the Diablo games, but I'm really enjoying Torchlight. The only slight downer is the art style. I'd prefer a more realistic style for this type of game.

Perhaps, but then every game will look the same. I like this alternative style, it gives an original feeling. I'll hunt it down for sure.

PC:
- Dragon Age: Origins - Oblivion (completed it with a thief, now playing the goty edition with a custom mageblade) I'll never get tired of this game, i even create my own wallpapers with screenshots from it... - Torchlight (completed with vanquisher, i'm trying it with a destroyer on very hard not hardcore) This game is an example of optimisation, it even runs on my netbook PS3: -Fallout 3 (i had completed the game on PC and now i'm playing the goty on the PS3, trying to end it with 10 in all attributes) Bethesda are my friends BTW, has anyone tried to play Call of Cthulhu: Dark corners of the earth on windows 7? I tried it last week and it crashed while i was trying to get in the basement of the house at the begining... It worked fine on XP... |

Took a break from Red Faction Guerrilla - you can get enough of blowing everything up I think... I will come back to it in time.
In the meantime I thought I would give another oldie a go - "Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon" I have had this game for ages, paid a couple of quid for it and it has just sat on the shelf. I finished it and I must say I didn't enjoy it as much as the first two games in the series. It probably didn't help that I played it on the PS2 - the loading times were very, very long - it was clearly a quick port over at the time. It was a reasonably good looking game, the locations were well illustrated and gave the game a good atmosphere. Overall the story was entertaining enough and the puzzles didn't leave you scratching your head for too long. The main problem with the game was the fact that about two thirds of the way in it switched from being purely puzzle based to introducing an element of stealth where you were expected to "sneak" past guards... I found this part to be really irritating as more often than not you would be spotted and shot. The result of which was to be made to endure more loading time as the game reloaded from your last save (yawn) I thought that the game should have concentrated just on the puzzle element - I hope that they scrap this stealth part of the game if there are any further games in the series. It made a welcome break as I haven't played this type of game for a while - I would recommend it so long as, like me you only pay a couple of quid for it... If you do give it a go this link might be of help... |

Spending quite a bit of time on Bayonetta for the 360 lately and a copy of The Settlers arrived in the post today so spent quite a bit of time getting to grips with it.

Anyway i've been playing a bit of "Red Faction: Guerilla" on the Xbox 360... The physics/damage/game engine are excellent but it does get a bit repetitive once the destruction novelty wears off. I've also been playing "Flight of the Amazon Queen" on my A1200 as it's one of the few adventure games i never got round to finishing... I'm enjoying it so far |

I'm playing Unchartered 2 on my new PS3! It's very good, although it's very dumbed-down, as are most games these days.
Amiga-wise, I've been playing Alien Breed 2 AGA. I still can't get much further than I could when the game first came out in 1993! |
