thanks for this handy tool. Just downloaded and tested version 1.0.0 on my Win10-64bit machine. Works well. How are new game files detected? Is there a list of downloaded files somewhere which gets compared to the dat files? Couldn‘t find any in the main app folder.

Thanks for the tool, handy for keeping up to date with game files matching the specified filter criteria.

The tool downloads the current dat files from the ftp and extracts a load of data from them. It then scans every lha and lzx file in the download folder and compares the two sets of info. If there are any files in the folder but not in the list, it's considered old and deleted and the new version downloaded.

Just a quick update to the full release. I've added several suggested filters and squished a couple more bugs. There is also an x86 version in the archive again.

Fixes / Updates

Added 28 new filters.
Fixed bug in scrape procedure that forgot to add beta games to Amiga system.
Added fix for x86 compilation
Fixed download number in download screen

Yeah just overwrite any old versions. If you have an existing custom prefs file, load it and save it again to add the new settings.

Tried this last night, and it works well, thanks. One problem though, when I tried to add games - Beta and unreleased into the Beta box, it said it couldn't find the directory.

I saved and then checked the prefs file and games - beta .... was added for demos.

I manually added games - beta to the right place in prefs and it works fine now, so no biggie, but it seems to be a bug nonetheless.

Can I use the Tool to change the folder structure of existing files? Tried a bit but couldn't figure it out.

For example, let's say I have my files inside 0-Z sorted folders, and want to remove the sorting or sort by Category without really deleting files. Just move them appropriately.

I had it in previous versions to a degree but it broke badly when I added categories to the downloads. I need to re-write it from scratch which isn't hard, just time consuming. It's on my to do list.

really .. great tool..

two issues:

1. I save my settings as "default.prefs".. but when I start the tool, the language settings are gone (ftp settings still there...) and i need to load the prefs manually. The change of the settings are stored in the file.. but not all settings are loaded correct, when I start the downloader

2. is it possible to have sorting by CATEGORY and in each CATEGORY also by Name (Folder 0, A, ... Z)?

using only: WHDLoadTool.exe

Seconded. Last time I had to do it manually and it took quite a bit of time to do so. It would be great if the tool could do it automatically. That’s how I have the folders set up on my Amiga and I could just drag and drop everything that way

I've made a test version with alphabetical sorting in the category downloads. Can someone test it for me before I release it? It seems to work fine for me, just want to make sure.
