How about we just forget about Nintendo completely (as I'd managed to do before this thread) and watch some comic observations regarding Batman! Now that's a character that DOES warrant the success and attention he receives ...or does he?!

A brilliant comedic dig at the casting of Chris Pratt as Mario in the upcoming The Super Mario Bros. Movie!

What were Nintendo thinking?

Also, I just noticed you can "pull of Giana" by switching direction mid-air in Super Mario Land on the Game Boy and in Super Mario Bros. 3 on the NES (presumably in SMB2 as well) and on all the Super Mario All-Stars remakes but not the original NES Super Mario Bros! It makes it almost unplayable in my view! The Great Giana Sisters on C64/Amiga is definitely better and launched the same year as SMB in Europe!

OK, but it's still a good video and not everyone has to acknowledge that Nintendo are an amazing example of game design! Quality control was really what they brought to the table with their Seal of Approval!

The game voice actor for Mario is listed in the cast of the movie though. Strange.

I seem to remember that back in the day (in the UK), if you had a SNES you were either it the Mario camp or the Zelda camp. Can't now think why. Maybe because the carts were so expensive few had both? It's always been Zelda for me anyway. As well designed as Mario was, it just never held my attention for that long.

Compositions can be enjoyed regardless of the instrument quality. The SMB soundtrack is unforgettable to most of us that played it, which proves that it's catchy!
I'd much rather have entertaining and catchy music than a boring composition that tries to impress because it has access to more complex sounds.

I'm not saying the C64 is worse, it actually has some of the best compositions in video game history, in my opinion. But saying that you have a mental age of 5 for enjoying the iconic SMB soundtrack is saying more about your mental age.

Wow, you need a VPN to see a friggin' SNL skit? Maybe try searching "HBO Mario Kart Trailer - SNL", perhaps there is a copy somewhere you can see.

Speaking of Mario Kart, that is probably going to be in the new SMB movie right I'd be disappointed if they don't jump in karts at some point.

My children have watched the trailer and say the story is saving the princess! Really? Yes, maybe Peach is abducted during a Kart Race! I think I'll wait for Wreck it Ralph 3!

I can see Jack Black as Browser's voice. Anya Taylor-Joy (best known as Beth Harmon in Netflix's The Queen's Gambit) as Peach... I don't know. Would be more fun with Sarah Silverman. She and her voice made Wreck it Ralph more interesting...

Yeah but in Wreck it Ralph she voices a child... and that's good because she sounds like one. Don't mean that in a disrespectful way, that's just what she sounds like when she's not spewing adult language.

Nice, but if we're going to talk about 'bootie calls', how about a Bowser call?
