HOL = is now moved
- A BIG thanks to the legend CodyJarrett, who have updated the old HOL php code to make it works with PHP7 ! - HOL now support https, so previous warning on http's EAB should be gone - Please report if you find something is not working as usual Last edited by RCK; 13 October 2020 at 15:13. |

So who is taking care of the migration of AMR and when will it be taking place exactly?! There are several bugs in AMR as it stands on the old server that resulted from the last server upgrade a few years ago. I reported them to Codetapper, but he said that there was little he could do from his end and that it was something that you need to fix at the server level IIRC. Anyway, I will see if the bugs persist after AMR is migrated to the new server and will report them to you then. EDIT: Was AMR just migrated too? I don't remember it being migrated before. Redblade reported a problem the other day with the links to coverdisk downloads having gone missing: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?...37#post1433237 EDIT2: Thanks RCK for the increased storage space for PMs on EAB - I just noticed! Did you just increase it recently?? Until recently, I'd been getting emails this year saying that PMs from various users weren't coming through due to having no space. I am encountering a search problem since the HOL was moved.
I used to use a filter for comparing games count Lemon vs HOL. So I use: game unreleased: no have lemonamiga links: no license is: commercial compilation: no datadisk: no it builds this search string: http://hol.abime.net/hol_search.php?...=no&N_nb_la=no Usually I got around 1000 results, but now it finds 0. The problem seems to be in a flag Is Datatisk? |

Two days ago I posted reports on 3 bugs that I've found so far following the HOL migration in the private admin. area, including the big problem with HOL searches that you allude to. Cody is on holidays, unfortunately, and did quite a bit of work to make the migration easier from what I understand. I imagine he will respond to my bug reports when he gets back.
The search facility has traditionally been RCK's field of expertise, however, but so far he hasn't responded. If I don't hear from him soon, I will be posting my bug reports to the HOL admin. mailing list and emailing him directly to get some sort of action on this matter. |

You should know better than most Carlo that RCK doesn't frequent EAB very often... once a month if that.
Your best bet is to send an e-mail to him... |

@DD
I've sent RCK bug reports in email before and he reckons he sometimes misses stuff because of the volume of email he gets. He was very specific in informing me that HOL bug reports are better off made in the private admin. area, where he is more likely to see them and quicker too. Given that he posted there about the migration and asked us to report bugs, it's reasonable to expect that he'd be checking back there more than once a month like he does in the public areas of EAB. I know RCK is a busy guy, as most of the HOL team are too (me included!), but there were one or two major HOL bugs from two previous server upgrades/migrations that EAB users and admins like myself had been reporting over and over for years. They didn't get any serious action from him until I absolutely hammered him about them the year before last. Funnily enough, they were fixed within hours of the hammering when they had been present for 10 years prior and had caused some major headaches for admins. who were updating/rearranging screenshots for HOL entries. The last thing I want for HOL end-users (as well as the other admins and myself) is a repeat of that scenario with the new bugs that have reared their ugly head in the latest HOL migration. Incidentally, I didn't enjoy hammering the boss man either....because without him HOL would never have seen the light of day almost 20 years ago, but even RCK himself admitted that HOL was his first son that he hadn't any time to code for in years. Has the Abime IRC server taken a break? Not known it to be inaccessible for this long.
