@ Steve or Brian can you confirm its these two tracks to cut and bridge the 5v rail with diodes to take the voltage down on those 3v rams , cheers

Would need to check the schematics.... but the hard disk should run off 4.6 and the regulator definitely will so anywhere on the main track might do

The hard disk is the only thing that gives me a pause here. But in theory yes. A mechanical hard disk might need to be tested. On the next revision I'll split the power rail so we can do this without the drop at the ide interface. The regulator is good down to almost 3.5V maybe better depending on the actual part used

No problem I have a 2.5" hard disk that I tested with tf328 so I can do that Steve

**Edit
When the diodes arrive I will do a bridge just after the volt reg 5v out rail and try the hard disk and report what i find

Inevitably some cf cards will sulk at this approach but meh... it's a trade off between RAM @3.3v or getting a compatible card... too many permutations to test

well I have loads of different types CF cards and can spend a little time testing to see if it will be a major problem, then people can make their own minds up .....or do we need to even bother Steve as these rams will not die lol

To be fair, running these old games will only tax (and potentially damage) the first 512K of RAM. I think leaving the ram test on that constantly accesses all the ram would be a more reliable indicator.

In the meantime, I am having a world of trouble ordering anything from UTSource and it's really hard communicating with them. How long do they usually take before they ship something to you? I've been waiting now close to a week with no progress.

Most of my orders have been from utsource and really aint had a problem but those ram you linked to last time have not even been shipped yet, but normally I have no problem, a weeks wait at most.

Oh ok, I have been bugging them about that very same ram - I guess they must be waiting for stock then. The language barrier is really a problem, even though they try their best.

Yeah, that's the only one I can think of - that constantly accesses, reads & writes to all the ram.
