@plasmab: This is really an awesome accelerator! Thank you very much for your hard work!
I have one working Rev.2 and three working Rev.3 now. But I have problems to get IDE working stable. It's better on the Rev.2 one but the Rev.3 ones don't work at all when I use a cable. If I put different CF adapter directly on the TK I get one CF to boot but on workbench I get checksum errors and whdload does not work at all. It hangs or I get Gurus. I have tried different CPUs, different CF adapter and cables. At the moment, I use 33MHz CPUs and the 33MHz firmware. I have no RAM errors with DiagRom, so this is ok. Any ideas? By the way, I'm looking forward to building the CD32 card :-) Last edited by mattymuc; 18 July 2017 at 22:08. |

No idea I'm afraid. The IDE is v basic. Like an A600. You are using the INT2 fly lead and R1 is 1K? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Try a real 40 pin IDE hard drive to be sure it isn't an incompatibility with your existing CF adaptor. We have seen odd behavior with some adaptors.

This is similar to the IDE problems I was having initially. Make sure the int2 wire is stable and try powering the CF adapter from an outside source, instead of splitting power from the a500 floppy connector. Ultimately, try changing the CF card. I noticed that some brands or types are just not compatible, even if they work fine on the a600.

i have three assembled boards and all three have similar problems with IDE +INT2.. had one board working great on 24Mhz R1 47K, R2 10K, R3 10K (have posted some pictures above with Keir's systest running more than one hour without single RAM issue).
Got 40Mhz & 1K resistors delivered yesturday, swapped oscillator to 40Mhz, flashed to 40Mhz firmware, swapped R1 to 1K, R2 to 47K, R3 10K board rejects to boot until i remove INT2 (can put it back on, and it boots fine). WHDLoad crashes with every game i have tryed (donno is it related to chip ram - it is standard 6A board with 512K of RAM) or rather to TF530, i am unable it run Keir's Systest anymore - it fails immediately after start now.. So need investigate more what exactly causes these errors, it looks like the resistor values need to be corrected... Another problem what i like to point to: a lot of people ordering these boards now, however, not all follow this topic, please please please update the BOM file, remove 20Mhz oscillator and 68881 FPU, as these parts are obsolete now!!! |

Has anyone had any success in programming the CPLDs from an Arduino or in another cheap-o way? What would else be recommended for programming them?
I have an old RIFF Box laying around, could I use that somehow? Edit: But maybe there will be other chips on the board as the amount of RAM goes up? I might just have to chill. |

I tried with the arduino but got nowhere. I may try the byte blaster.

I found your issue on the JTAGWhisperer GitHub, and found another page where a commenter says that pins 8, 9, 10 and 11 should be PB0, PB1, PB2 and PB3. But I guess you may have already tried that.

something like that will work:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/P009-08-JTAG-...-/282524393607 if You have serial port on Your PC... CAUTION! i have bought this adapter, tryed to connect thru adapter board that comes with Xilinx serial Programmer, seems that the pinout differs - chips get warm! Have tryed to contact the seller with question about pinout - answer came only after i have leaved negative feedback. DON'T buy from him! |
